GOOD - Treasure Stack is a fun puzzle game that plays it safe and doesn’t draw outside the lines. It’s great to see another developer run with the Wario’s Woods concept, but unfortunately it fails to outdo that game, which Switch Online members can play right now via the NES app for free.

Treasure Stack is like a busy hardcore Tetris. You at the bottom of the shaft, treasure chests falling on your head, you fighting agains time and others.

Treasure Stack has something going for it. It’s fun and seriously challenging and has a good and varied multiplayer. With some post-launch support, this game could easily become a must-grab. Treasure Stack makes its big splash on March 1st, 2019. It will be released for both PC and Console platforms. The game was developed and published by Pixelakes LLC and sells for $19.99.

It has its moments, but the price of admission with Treasure Stack's warts-n-all presentation might steer a few players away from the genuine genius this game provides.

For players who like a bit of challenge, then 100% give this one a go, but on the whole, I felt this wasn’t worth the stress.

Treasure Stack is one of the small indie titles of 2019 that might look interesting and lovely in the beginning but after a while it turns into a boring and pointless game that doesn't care for its audience; and without a change in its formula, it will be forgotten in just a few hours and become totally worthless.

Treasure Stack is a game with extremely low amount of content and awkward controls that try to add something to the concept of falling blocks. But these ideas just don't work and the Treasure Stack on the whole looks more like an unfinished idea than a complete game.

Treasure Stack does one thing and it does it really well. It also features solid multiplayer support and season unlocks to keep the game fresh. For a solo player it can become repetitive and stale and the unlocks don't seem to have enough variety to stand out. All that being said I would still recommend this game for anyone looking for a fun puzzle game on Switch.

That’s pretty much the entire problem with Treasure Stack—it’s anemic. There’s certainly effort put into the game and it can be a little bit of fun from time to time. It’s definitely not a great game, though. And with so many different puzzle games available, including the almighty Tetris, there’s just not enough to make Treasure Stack worth a recommendation.

Alas, the same is true here, for the online is entirely barren now, and with so much of the focus dumped into multiplayer modes that are practically worthless, (And not even that fun with the local friends I did manage to bring over) I just can’t understand what Treasure Stack was going for. With several more local modes, and just a bit more tweaking, this could easily be an addictive, fun modern take on the Wario’s Woods formula, but as it stands now, this just ends up being a forgettable puzzler that pales compared to the inspiration.

The biggest difference in how Treasure Stack is played is that rather than control the blocks themselves you control a small character who is moving around within the space...

It may not be the most original or rewarding game out there but Treasure Stack is certainly a solid and fun competitive puzzler.

Treasure Stack‘s unique twist on a familiar genre makes for addictive and engaging gameplay – but it’s not going to be for everyone.

I desperately want to love Treasure Stack, but as it is right now, it's a colorful sketch of a video game at best. Simply, there just isn't much of anything to do and a frustrating interface and a seemingly absent online landscape (including crossplay with Xbox One and PC) makes the future for this heavily online-focused game look bleak. Maybe someday this could be a richer, fuller experience, but it isn't right now.

Overall it’s quite a bit of fun and the lure to unlock the next item or character is there… but it also ends up being very repetitive very quickly.
