On PS4, the release took the approach of being good at a great deal of things and spectacular at none, and this remains true. Each positive is balanced out by a negative. The primary antagonist is phenomenal, but she is underutilised. The game is stunning to behold, but frame hitches are common – especially on the 4K option. The combat is exhilarating, but the jumping and sliding puzzles leave a lot to be desired. The end result is an experience that is decent at just about everything, and easy to recommend. But as good as Fallen Order may be, if you look backwards in time, it’s not difficult to find superior Star Wars experiences.

This is a tricky one. Technically speaking, yes, the PlayStation 5 version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the best one out there, purely and simply because you have access to a better framerate and slightly improved loading times. Then again, we have all bought and played the game two years ago, so double dipping on it makes very little sense right now.

Developers from Respawn Entertainment resemble a dog and a cat - they borrowed individual ingredients from established game brands and baked them into a cake in the form of gameplay of their new title. Unlike the animal twin from Čapka's fairy tales, you won't have a stomach ache after consuming it, because the mix of fights, platforming and puzzles here works perfectly. After a weak introduction, the successful gameplay is joined by an equally successful story with characters whose fate you will care about, set in attractive settings. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order doesn't need a lot of innovation to be a great action-adventure and one of the best Star Wars games in years.

The fact is Fallen Order isn’t a perfect game, but players will emerge from Fallen Order focused more on the positives than the missteps made because Fallen Order is able to recover from the mistakes and still create lasting memories.

While I enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the gameplay for the most part was quite fluid, including the combat, however the story which does have some totally cool moments did at times feel a little, well… err… forced at times like a group of people were throwing ideas and concepts around a boardroom. Even so, it is the single-player game that many Star Wars fans wanted and developers Respawn should be commended on successfully revitalizing the franchise again and let's hope this becomes a yearly event. Just be warned that the gameplay can be a little repetitive but hopefully the Star Wars branding will keep you invested from start to finish.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order isn't the best Souls-like on the market, but it's the best entry point for newcomers. The game has a great balance between a challenge and a power fantasy, and it blends all of its inspirations well to create a package worth checking out.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order brings a unique take to the world of Star Wars by implementing a Soulslike element to it. This is an excellent immersive adventure with flashy moves, incredible music, remarkable graphics, and a fantastic story that does a great job of setting up the next game.

The game takes us into a galaxy very, very far away, so far away that lootboxes or multiplayer don't even exist, something that suits it very well.

We expected more from this but the sheer amount of technical issues and a lack of risk taking and new ideas made this to be the Star Wars we were not looking for.

EA has saved with note the match ball in front of him thanks to Respawn, his most fit tennis player with either Star Wars or an MMO like Apex Legends, is proving to be one of the great assets of the American publisher. The franchise born from the mind of George Lucas has something that seemed very difficult in the world of videogames not long ago: a hopeful future. Luckily the force will always be with us.

Fallen Order is exactly the kind of game that the Star Wars gaming community needed after Battlefront 2. You have a game centered around you playing as a Jedi, exploring as a Jedi and fighting as a Jedi. It’s something that feels like a no-brainer but somehow got lost in the shuffle somewhere. Throw in the fun combat, solid narrative and nice production values and it seems that the Star Wars gaming franchise just might have a new hope.

In the end, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ultimately lacks a sense of identity and that's what holds it back from being one of the greats.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a great Star Wars game that's true to the lore of the universe. As a first step for the series into the soulslike genre it feels natural, though it also offers a more hardcore game mode for those that want a real challenge.

Overall I enjoyed the heck out of Fallen Order. The characters kept me engaged, the combat challenged me. Even after beating the story, I can go back and collect secrets to find out more about the worlds in Fallen Order, collect more lightsaber parts, upgrade my skills to the max and continue to have engaging fights. What is more amazing is that this is a game from a developer, Respawn, who is known for it’s Titanfall series and very popular Battle Royal, Apex Legends. It is amazing to see a developer step out of its comfort zone and into a different genre. It is definitely worth a pick up and my favorite game this year overall.

Unevenly paced and peppered with bugs, Fallen Order demands a lot up front before it reveals its hand. At that point, a thoroughly decent Star Wars adventure unfolds... but patient, you must be.

Respawn's work pays homage to the world of Star Wars with a modest narrative adventure, made up of ups and downs: the respect and love for Star Wars by the developers make this game almost essential for every fan of the saga, while a solid combat system and a overall successful level design will also entertain fans of action adventures.
