So beautiful and so boring and repetitive quests and gameplay. Play it in cooperation and maybe you can stay a bit longer in this dull world.

The ideas are sound and the visuals look good, but Generation Zero doesn't have too much to offer. Looking past the glitches may offer some fun co-op play, though.

You have to give Avalanche Studios props for crafting a very interesting world, but their efforts weren't quite enough. Right now, there's just no reason to play Generation Zero, but once it gets fixed and tweaked a bit, it could be worth trying

A barrage of technical issues and poor design brings the promising thrills of Generation Zero's concept to a screeching halt

Generation Zero is a game that has fantastic potential but falls short in so many areas. The Excellent combat and generally great atmosphere is let down by a myriad of bugs, a very limited range of enemies to face off against, boring quests and a world that is just too large and sterile, particularly if played alone. The potential of bug fixes and increased enemy types would make this a fantastic budget purchase, but until that time it's one I would miss unless you know at least two others to co-op with.

Generation Zero isn't the game I wanted it to be today, but in a world where games are alive and changing all the time, I'm hoping the singularity is still near.

Generation Zero is beautiful to look at but it's far too buggy and repetitive to be entertaining.

Playing with friends and a simple exploration are the most positive points about Generation Zero. Several flaws undermine the quality that Avalanche Studios' open-world cooperative game could've had. Enjoying the Sweden from the 80s is a really tough thing to do.

Genertation Zero has potential but no purpose. Big map, good shooting mechanics, but game is not entertaining

Generation Zero offers glimpses of a superb game - it has brilliant atmosphere, a vast world, plenty of intrigue and some fun combat opportunities, particularly when played in co-op. However the package as a whole feels grossly incomplete, with an incredibly rough UI, copious amounts of bugs and a huge list of issues. This could be great one day, but right now it's hard to recommend.

This game feels, looks and plays like a title in advance access. I think it will be good someday because I think it has the potential and character enough, but I do not think it is his day of departure and surely not soon either.

This strange unknown game that takes place in rural Sweden tries its best to be a great open-world survival game and it comes dangerously close to it. However, it falters in almost all of its aspects and ends up being a frustrating and mediocre experience. Glimpses of something great are to be had, but this game should have been in Early Access and iterated upon instead of giving us an incomplete romp through the cold north.

I love the ideas that Avalanche brought to the table and there are moments where Generation Zero gets it right. The emptiness of the large world might annoy me because it feels superfluous, but it does create a sense of isolation which mixes nicely with the roaming bands of robots to create a tense atmosphere, at least for the first hour or two. I also enjoyed the more careful approach to combat, the fantastic robot designs and teaming up with friends or even random players. Sadly, though, the core mechanics of stealth, shooting and looting didn’t click with me. Yet, I’d still like to see a sequel because there’s some great potential on show in Generation Zero.

Generation Zero is an amalgamation of ideas, some of them pretty decent, but none executed with any great level of confidence. Despite the surprisingly strong atmosphere, gameplay annoyances and serious technical issues prevent it from having a chance to survive.

If you miss the ’80s then Generation Zero may be the game for you, personally though I thought it was an odd choice for this style of game. It truly was a beautiful looking game which has been dragged down by the poor gameplay. Maybe if the map was smaller and more condensed then it would have appealed to me more, as well as not being as tedious and boring with the vast open nothingness.

Generation Zero is a buggy and poorly designed open-world co-op shooter that tragically squanders its distinctive setting.

Generation Zero have good ideas and had many arguments in his favour. A context that stands out from the ordinary, robots as enemies, a beautiful day/night cycle. Unfortunately, it's not enough and we clearly can't recommend the game at this stage. The game is EMPTY and the action is too rare, and alos the game have too much bugs.

I went into this game with the highest of hopes and the lowest of expectations. Even with the most open of minds I could possibly muster, it's still difficult to find good things to say about Generation Zero. Overall, Generation Zero's incredible atmosphere, mostly beautiful visuals, and great soundtrack feel wasted alongside countless technical issues, horrendous pacing, unbalanced combat, and an almost nonexistent story.
