I think that The Wizards – Enhanced Edition is a brilliant PSVR title, one which easily stands among my favourite this year. Take the role of Dr. Strange as you summon a shield, a bow, or one of the other projectiles to destroy the evil beings who are trying to destroy mankind. Okay, you’re not Dr. Strange but you certainly do aspire to be like him with all of your hand movements and gestures which casts unique spells depending upon how you manoeuvre your limbs.

The Wizards Enhanced Edition is a pretty fun VR fantasy adventure that brings consistent thrills to the PSVR in its cool spellcasting and its polished presentation.

While The Wizards: Enhanced Edition isn’t a super long game coming in around 6 hours for me it does offer reasons to replay it.

The Wizards - Enhanced Edition is a fun virtual reality game that has more length and polish than many other VR titles on the market. The gesture-based combat is a lot of fun, even if it is not always completely precise and the presentation values are quite good as well. The combat itself can get a little repetitive however, due to lack of enemy variety and overall spells at your disposal, and the lack of modes beyond campaign and arena do limit replay value some as well. That being said, The Wizards is an entertaining experience and one that has room for growth should Carbon Studio go ahead and see fit to make a sequel, which I would definitely like to see.

A light and entertaining alternative to heavy-weight shooters like Raw Data and In Death, The Wizards gives the player great satisfaction in creating spells with their own hands, and that's simply amazing.

The Wizards: Enhanced Edition allow you to live in a fantasy world. But HTC Vive and Oculus Rift could be a better choice than PlayStation VR for this game.

The Wizards creates a nice environment to explore and provides a short adventure to draw gamers into a magical land. Unfortunately, the unpredictable VR controls frustrate gameplay and are a distraction from totally enjoying an immersive wizard experience.

All you fantasy fans who have ever wanted to hurl fireballs and launch lightning bolts at hordes of goblins are in for a treat with The Wizards VR... although there are some wonky controls to deal with.

Casting gesture-based spells is a great concept for a VR game but ensuring that the gestures register properly can make The Wizards: Enhanced Edition an irritating experience.

Beautiful visuals and a cool gesture-based magic system can't save The Wizards: Enhanced Edition from an inscrutable progression system and some dire technical issues. Fantasy fans will find some enjoyment from the puzzles and the fun narrator, but some strange design decisions end up kneecapping the experience.

The Wizards is the kind of thing that PSVR was made for. It embodies the fantasy of being a wizard with brilliant gesture-based spells that really make you feel like a mage casting magic. Read more at

If you dismiss the more apparent flaws, then you'll find The Wizards: Enhanced Edition to be an average adventure title. The quest itself plays out fine and enemies are fun to defeat, even if they don't pose too much trouble. However, the accuracy issues are simply too great that they transform what could be a game-changing VR wizard experience into an exercise in flailing limbs. It isn't a terrible game, but don't expect something top-tier in the VR space.

The Wizards: Enhanced Edition wrestles with the limitations of PSVR and never wins, deeply undercutting its enjoyable spellcasting with inaccurate motion tracking. These issues are only made worse by uninteresting missions and repetitive combat, making the initial splendour of this spellcasting adventure fade very quickly.

When all is said and done, for anyone who has a desire to pick up a VR magic-casting simulator, The Wizards: Enhanced Edition is the better-controlling option, though it lacks much of the overall polish found in The Mage's Tale, particularly when it comes to exploring areas (there have also been a few cases of progress being halted due to the occasional glitch, forcing a restart of the level).

The Wizards: Enhanced Edition consists of 10 levels divided into 3 regions that will entertain us for approximately 5-6 hours, which could well be a bit more if we embark on a search for all the objects and cards. Using Sony's peripherals will give it a special touch. An intense and fun adventure that will make you take out our magic side.
