Warhammer: Chaosbane takes all the right cues from the giants of the action RPG genre while at the same time implementing a few neat tricks of its own.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is a decent ARPG that doesn't do anything new or exciting. Still, it might appeal to Warhammer fans and newcomers to the ARPG genre.

Warhammer fans can be in luck to be able to sink their teeth into a game that is very respectful of the Games Workshop franchise, which knows how to take advantage of the genre's virtues and offers a varied and promising endgame.

Warhammer: Chaosbane isn't noteworthy. If you're a fan of the franchise, it might meet your need for Diablo-style beat-'em-up action. If you're not, there's little to recommend it over the horde of other available games, especially since this is selling at full price. Like Diablo III, perhaps Chaosbane can eventually update enough to fix its mistakes, but until then, it's a game for Warhammer faithfuls only.

...doesn't really bring anything new to the table. It's enjoyable enough, but is mostly uninspired.

Warhammer Chaosbane packs a lot of action in this action-rpg game, but there's not enough original content to give the game any long term replayability.

In the end, I can't help but feel Warhammer: Chaosbane suffers from being a budget action RPG, taking shortcuts to save cost, which has caused the game to succumb to the issue of being rather unoriginal, uninspiring and repetitive.

Warhammer Chaosbane is a rather pretty, but ultimately shallow Diablo wannabe. By adhering too closely to its inspiration is fails to bring anything new to the table, and end up looking like a poor imitation in somewhat shinier armour and fails to deliver anything with any impact. More whiffle bat than Warhammer.

A good Diablo like game that doesn't does anything particularly new but still is fun specially when playing on coop.

Only you can save the newly-crowned Emperor's life in this Diablo-like action RPG that stays true to the Warhammer license.

Warhammer: Chaosbane delivers an alright, but very broken game on Xbox One X.

Warhammer: Chaosbane feels like a classic Diablo clone. Atmosphere and story is done perfectly, unfortunately the dueling system is not interesting enough to attract you for longer period of time. Actually, the game doesn't even work for a long time, because it crashes. Quite often.

Warhammer: Chaosbane has the potential to be a top tier action RPG in the likes of Diablo, Torchlight, and Grim Dawn, but as it stands now, it is a fun 10 hours with the endgame content being watered down.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is an enjoyable experience that could really use a bit more polish and fleshed out level design. It's a fairly good game at its core but it's hard to miss the problem areas as well. Pick it up if you're a big Warhammer fan or really enjoy ARPGs, but it might be better to wait for a sale if you're on the fence.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is mediocre game that can be fun to play in co-op with friends and then forget forever. Or try to master it alone, suffering from monotony и boring plot. The most desperate fans of the genre and the universe of Warhammer can try, but better on sale. And for the rest - just pass by.

This is kind of fun, but there are many other games already that do what it tries to do so much better.

Warhammer: Chaosbane in all its totality is one of the best of the best when it comes to top-down dungeon crawling action and looting. It also comes with an impressive story that doesn’t let down, especially if you grab the Magnus Edition, which comes with all the DLC the game has to offer.

An all-encompassing edition of Warhammer's latest foray into Diablo style dungeon crawling, Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition struggles to stand out with its grindy gameplay and poor use of the DualSense controller. That said, there is sufficient depth in its character build creation and near endless quest lines that those who can withstand its less agreeable aspects will find much to tide them over.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is saved by the monster-slaying action since the narrative isn't much to play for. If you can find friends to play online with this is an excellent adventure, but while solo the repetition may set in a bit too quickly.

It’s a shame that Warhammer: Chaosbane hasn’t simply been given the Smart Delivery treatment on Xbox, or the equivalent on PS5, but if you haven’t yet added it to your library, the Slayer Edition is definitely the way to go. Performance has been dramatically improved despite the visuals also being markedly upgraded, and all the included content added since launch makes for an expansive affair that can easily eat up thirty-plus hours of your time. It’s not quite Diablo, but Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition makes for a worthy stand-in if you’ve exhausted everything there is to do in Sanctuary.
