Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland Reviews
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland proves to be a great entry in Gust’s long-running series, and much like the many concoctions made by Lulua, this is a refined final product that reflects several of the best traits of the predecessors that came before.
Atelier Lulua is one of the better Atelier games in recent times and a worthy follow up to the Arland trilogy with its relaxing gameplay and superb soundtrack.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland maintains the magic that this long-running JRPG series is known for. From relaxing gameplay to adorable characters, Atelier Lulua doesn't disappoint. Newcomers to the series might have some larger story beats go over their head, while long-time fans might be miffed at the fact that so few returning characters are playable in battle. Still, when it comes to the Atelier series, Lulua manages to blend the best of the new with the best of the old with incredibly successful results.
Even if it doesn't go far away from the Atelier formula, Lulua it's one of the most complete and enjoyable entries in the Atelier series. Under its easiness and low difficulty, Lulua its a complete RPG that shines the most on the alchemy options. It also leaves behind technical problems (fps hiccups), but it isn't localisized (english texts).

After the hours spent with Lulua, her bestest gal pal Eva, and the other members of her menagerie, I must admit that I am hooked on Arland. Knowing that the Arland Atelier Trilogy Plus collection was released on the PS4 not too long ago, I foresee new additions to my digital backlog in my immediate future. But for right now, it's back to deciphering all of these remaining Alchemyriddle pages!
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is a more accessible installment to the long running franchise. Lulua and her companions are a fun new cast, and the more streamlined crafting system makes Atelier Lulua a great starting point for new players.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is one of the best entries in the Atelier series. While the story is not particularly exciting, the charming characters, enjoyable world and streamlined game mechanics can keep players engaged for a very long time. Highly recommended to fans of the series and to those looking for a nice JRPG that's not too demanding. The links above are affiliate links. Atelier Lulua is a crisp and clean experience with cute visuals and an even cuter cast of characters. While the gameplay is simple, it’s engaging enough to hold your attention and the best part is that you don’t need to have played the previous three games in order to understand this. With the added bonus of the simplified alchemy procedure, it’s an overall great title to pick up if you’ve been curious about the series.
Atelier Lula: The Scion of Arland is currently the most calm, sweet and simple, designed for beginners part of the series with well-written characters, significantly redesigned alchemical system and non-straining course of history. If you want to get acquainted with the rich world of Atelier, but were afraid of time limits and big jumps of difficulty, this part will be a real gift.

Atelier Lulua is a solid, albeit safe final entry in the Arland quadrilogy that does an admirable job of bidding farewell to a lovable cast of characters.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland has plenty going for it. It’s got an interesting story that longtime fans will love, and its gameplay will keep JRPG fans satisfied well into the late hours of its run. Like so many other titles from the genre though, it’s held back by long-held conventions that work against it, and keep it from being something better than just another entry in the Atelier series.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland doesn't stray too far from the formula it created many, many installments ago, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to this series. This is a fun, light-hearted adventure that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is a significant leap in the series when compared to its predecessors. Not only has its visual environment undergone a major rework next to previous games in the series, it also features the finest alchemy and combat systems in games carrying the Atelier name. The best game for anyone to enter this series and a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Atelier Lulua continues the story of the Arland trilogy of games while taking the mechanics of more recent Atelier titles and refining them.
Much like its spin-off, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, is a great escape from reality, and an even greater entry in the Atelier franchise. Despite its localization issues, it is a great game all RPG fans must experience. With its enjoyable long-lasting content as a result of the new Alchemyriddle system, rewarding gameplay, and visually impressive art style, it is hard not to recommend this title.
Lulua is an exceptionally safe Atelier title that feels less like a return to form and more like an achromatic stroll down the rugged cobblestone of memory lane.
Atelier Lulua ~The Scion of Arland~ is a delightful return to the Arland series. Even if it isn't terribly different from previous titles, the story is fun enough to keep players interested. Add in some delightful visuals, cute girls and wholesome fun, it's easy to see why the series has been around for so long. Plus, limiting the time mechanics might take away from one of the series core features, it allows players to take in the adventure, while still being aware of the time it takes them to complete this or that. So, if you want a cute RPG that has a nice message, you really can't go wrong with this one.
Crippled by disappointing writing, Atelier Lulua also fails at delivering enough nostalgic content to veteran fans of the Atelier series.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland doesn't even try to change the Atelier formula, only adding some new elements to the gameplay that benefit the overall experience but still fail to bring something really new to the table.
