It is obvious that Man of Medan's gameplay inherits from Until Dawn, but the online multiplayer mode is impressive and interesting. Beside that, it is a underwhelming game with a bad story-telling pace.

A so-so debut for a promising series.

Despite it’s shortcomings, the game is still somewhat entertaining, and I’m hoping Supermassive will knock the next entry of this spooky anthology out of the park.

One hopes Man of Medan will function similarly to a mediocre TV pilot for a series that only later finds its footing.

A familiar story made better with a partner, Man of Medan is enjoyable either way.

Technical issues and graphical glitches aside, Man Of Medan is a pretty good title, with a creepy atmosphere and enough jump scares to keep you on edge through most of the game. The characters themselves, with a few exceptions, are generally unlikable though and it’s something Until Dawn had issues with too through much of its run-time. While I understand that generally in horror movies you’ll find the same thing, the archetypal characters and cookie-cutter characterisation offers little substance to build empathy with these people, and much of the time spent playing this you’ll find yourself progressing passively, rather than genuinely caring whether these people make it to safety or not.

And the best part is that Man of Medan has so many choices that I can go back, and play something completely different.

Man of Medan is a perfect game for lovers of interactive adventures. A horror story that although more predictable than we would have liked, offers us a great experience and a lot of choices that can cause it to end with more or less survivors. In addition, the social component that allows us to play with friends online or with up to 5 friends on the same console, are an added weight when enjoying this experience with more people.

Man of Medan brings a strong multiplayer focus to the cinematic horror of Until Dawn.

The first chapter of "The Dark Pictures Anthology" feels a little bit unpolished and rough around the edges, but it is a nice interactive movie with interesting characters and story branching.

After the release of Until Dawn, many were excited for what Supermassive would tackle next. The first installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology called Man of Medan won't appeal to everyone. It still has believable and realistic characters attempting to survive a horrible situation. With multiple avenues of success and failure. But the narrative takes a while to get started and the movement of the characters when exploring can feel like they have a force field around them. Regardless, Man of Medan excels at delivering an uneasy and tension-filled horror adventure.

Man of Medan Shows a different beauty of fixed cameras, it's an overall short game but highly replayable with some great voice acting and not a bad multiplayer mode. seems a good pick for any player who enjoys a good and slightly scary Interactive experience with no combat mechanics.

Fun to play alone or share, Man of Medan extends the history of the horror anthology to a new medium for a younger generation.

Man of Medan is a promising start to the Dark Pictures Anthology. I'd be happy to play more of these b-horror movie simulators, full of pretty people desperately trying to survive.

While Until Dawn was a serving of shlocky horror served up with a self-referential grin, Man of Medan has less personality, in part because it's a smaller slice of story. That said, its online modes will be game-changers for the rest of the series.

Man of Medan is a thinner, flawed follow-up to Until Dawn that is saved by its online co-op mode.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan tells a spooky tale sure to unnerve most players and although it has some issues it does so while offering plenty of unique paths that makes the game perfect for more than one playthrough.

I’m not entirely sure Man of Medan is the absolute strongest example they could have put forward to launch what they hope to be an ongoing successful series.

It's not easy to keep everyone alive in Man of Medan, and you won't necessarily want to, especially in 2-player co-op.

Shallow story, repetitive jump scares, unbalanced QTE, annoying camera angles... all saved by the online co-op mode.
