My Friend Pedro has its flaws, but the gunplay here is freaking amazing.

Pedro is very unique and skilled gun fighter and there is a lot of blood, dead bodies and bananas. But we want much more of this!

While a few finicky mechanics and a lack of content outside the campaign keep this from getting a universal recommendation, $20 still gets you a memorable experience and offers a deliciously fun twist on the sidescrolling shooter formula.
If there is one word that can describe My Friend Pedro, it is fluidity. All gameplay is based on the plasticity of movements, the cinematographic choreography and the remarkable moments - by quality or mediocrity - resulting from the player's action. With a disjointed narrative and few post-final incentives, the final result is still very positive, presenting a remarkable, addictive and extremely fun experience.

My Friend Pedro may not be the most unique indie game ever but its stylish gun combat will certainly make you feel like a badass.
There’s a need for extra content to fill out what’s currently on offer, as My Friend Pedro could easily benefit from a much-needed encore with a bag full of boomsticks and a few more bullets to the head.
My Friend Pedro will take you on a journey to the most extreme depths of beautiful violence… and you'll love every second of it.
My Friend Pedro doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but its big success is taking a genre known for its punishing difficulty and paring things down at the lower end.
DeadToast Entertainment has made a game that builds on the systems and mechanics it introduces incrementally to the player. This is a game where you feel like John Wick, (or maybe Neo for a more accurate Keanu Reeves reference) by game’s end. The late game annoyances in platforming don’t sour what is otherwise and incredibly fun game where you’re in direct control of the action. The tagline is “Blood. Bullets. Bananas.” and that couldn’t be more accurate. Though, I’ll never look at a banana the same way again after experiencing the final level. My Friend Pedro is equal parts substance and style, with emphasis on the style.
My Friend Pedro is at the forefront of sidescrolling action. While it will undoubtedly take a while to fully get to grips with its controls, the time investment is worthwhile. As soon as you finish, you’ll be returning to prior levels in an attempt to beat your score. It’s an addicting, adrenaline-fuelled, action-packed adventure that ends just a little bit too soon.
My Friend Pedro is one of the most stylish, crazy shooters that you’ll play this year!
My Friend Pedro is an addictive experience and a mesmerising shoot-em-up that, though failing to deliver a good story, takes you on a violent ballet filled with blood, bullets and bananas.
The latest Indie gem to come from Devolver Digital is now here, and if you love oddball types of games that offer up unique gameplay experiences and sentient bananas, then My Friend Pedro will be right up your demented, side-scrolling shooter loving alley.
Even with an underwhelming final third and a paper-thin plot holding it back, My Friend Pedro is a fruity and exhilarating ride.
There’s a lot of entertainment in watching someone nailing a super double twist into a somersault while shooting two dudes in the head. Surprisingly, though, there’s just not as much fun in doing it.
My Friend Pedro has more than lived up to my expectations and I’m absolutely thrilled that there’s yet another utterly brilliant Devolver Digital title out there in the world. It’s hilarious, ridiculous and has a fair number of ‘punch-the-air’ moments that very few games can pull of with the same style as My Friend Pedro.
If you love a good action game, then My Friend Pedro is a must own. The slow-motion gunplay is incredibly satisfying and fun. The story leaves a little to be desired, but the action makes up for it. The story is relatively short, but you will go back again and again to raise your score. Plus, with its handy gif generator, you will be replaying levels over and over again in order to make the perfect action moment to share with friends.
Devolver Digital has made a reputation for themselves by publishing violent and goofy games. My Friend Pedro continues this tradition in grand fashion, as you play a nameless amnesiac on a murderous rampage, all while a floating banana named Pedro guides you on your quest, filling you in on the backstory.
My Friend Pedro excels at making you feel extremely good at being violent. Its slow-mo gunplay is among the best in any game. However, the disappointing delivery of its utterly bananas premise and a lack of variety dulls the thrill during longer play sessions.
