It's not without positives, but there are far better options for race fans on Switch right now, and far better examples of multiplatform optimisation.

I love that FIA European Truck Racing Championship exists and really I hope such a niche audience titles finds the right audience. Developer N-RACING has been faithful to the essence of truck racing, but it hasn't been able to create the structure, close fighting, nor personality the series has to offer. Variety is good, and I really hope they can work on an improved sequel. For now, once the novelty has worn off, you are left with a pretty lifeless game.

An admirably niche racing game which gets the look and feel of truck racing just right, but manages to get the single player career experience all wrong.

The training was the best part of the game and I was not racing against anyone. I am torn between the training aspects, but that was just a small part of the game. For it to be based on real-life, which most people wouldn’t think twice about picking this game up, just walk right past it on the shelf and move onto a more popular game.

If you enjoy long track races, and want a new challenge, ETRC is almost certainly that. However, if that's not your thing, there is nothing this game does that will lure you over.

The only official simulation that features all the unique characteristics of the ETRC and offers all racing fans a completely new driving experience: race a giant 5-tonne, 1,000-horsepower truck against 12 competitors while respecting the race rules to avoid penalties.

FIA European Truck Racing Championship is between arcade and simulation, and this is synthesize the pro and cons of the game. Physics and IA aren't good, but the driving feeling is correct.

Good to see racing with trucks. However there is nothing special, career is boring and multiplayer is dead.

FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a rather unique and time-consuming racing game. With the settings all set to default, a single race weekend will take you approximately three hours to complete, three hours of driving around the same racetrack in hopes of catching up to the parallel-running CPU who hardly ever slow down to give you an advantage. Not to mention the large number of penalties you can incur by breaking the official rules, thus further increasing your time and making restarting the race your only chance of success. However, despite the brutal nature, the unforgiving punishments, the long-winded racing (which I turned down) and the credit system not currently working, I quickly became addicted to this game and couldn’t stop playing.

Despite some aggressive AI and an unforgiving penalty system, FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a solid and highly enjoyable racing sim

ETRC is an excellent game and one the developers should be proud of. I loved my time on this game. I wish there were more choices in truck racing to compare this game too. Sadly there isn't, and it would be unfair to compare them to games like Project Cars 2 or GT Sport. It's really not like either of them but in some ways, it feels so much like it should be. Even though this game might be a niche market with it being truck racing. I have no hesitation in giving this game a Thumb Culture Gold Award.

All in all, FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a surprisingly good racer, though it’s not going to appeal to all due to the fact that it’s about racing big heavy trucks rather than the latest sports cars.
