Concrete Genie Reviews
All the imperfections and sorrows of the world... They fill human hearts with Darkness and seem to become an integral part of our selves. If only we could take a magic brush and cleanse it once and for all, make the world around us a better place to live. Well, Concrete Genie allows you to do just that. The game takes you on an emotional journey across abandoned town of Denska and your goal is to paint it back to life.
Concrete Genie is a heartwarming story about friendship and restoration, and is an absolute must-play.
An experience that values creation above all, Concrete Genie is a colourful spectacle and treat for the eyes and soul.
Concrete Genie might go as one of the biggest surprises of the year. The lower price is just a bonus. Whatever amount of success this game finds, Concrete Genie deserves more.
"Concrete Genie" is a magical action-adventure, which tells an emotional story in a gentle way. It's a lot of fun to swing the brush and create colorful djinn out of nothing. The artful puzzles provide the player with ever new story snippets and also invite to a cute interaction with the friendly spirit beings. If you are looking for an extraordinary game that appeals to the player's creative talent, "Concrete Genie" is a small work of art among the games.

Concrete Genie is quite simply a classic example of quality over quantity and aside from a few gripes with the final hour of the game, this is easily one of the best games of 2019. Not bad for a title that clocks in at around 5 hours. It’s a great showcase for how games can break free from conventional norms and illustrate an idea in a polished and clever manner. This is a game that personally resonated with me right the way through to the final scenes and one that’s absolutely worth its weight in gold. If you’re on the fence about this one, do yourself a favour and take the plunge. You’ll be thankful you did.
Pixelopus’ sophomore effort makes me constantly yearn for the painting that could’ve been instead of the painting that is.
Concrete Genie leaves you begging for more in an experience that's short and sweet. Even though the game isn't challenging it feels great to play as you let your imagination run wild. With a charming story and great characters to boot you should definitely be playing this if you don't mind the short runtime.

A virtual proof that optimism, imagination, and good will can be the core component of a game. Translating positivity into pixels is a daunting task, but Pixel Opus have managed to create something truly remarkable.
It's clear that its creators feel the love for creation that the game tries to communicate, but the end result is too irregular.

A fine and beautiful adventure that's kinda difficult to love, because of how few original ideas it has and how rarely it offers something new.

Concrete Genie is a welcome addition to the PlayStation family of games and stands out among its bigger action-oriented contemporaries.
Concrete Genie is not everybody’s game, especially those who don’t already have a deep appreciation of visual art. The story is catered mostly for a younger audience, as a single adult doesn’t appear in the game outside of hasty flashbacks. The gameplay remains mostly static throughout its admittedly short six- to nine-hour playtime, outside of the aforementioned combat sequences that, although properly functioning, don’t really provide any new experiences or challenges that any gamer wouldn’t already be familiar with. The trailers for Concrete Genie do thankfully provide an accurate representation of the game, so if those trailers intrigue you, I think the $29.99 pricetag may justify this creative endeavor.
Concrete Genie tells a realistic fairy tale with a wonderful painting system. Although its gameplay might have some obviouse flaws, I still enjoy it.

Overall, the camera problems and frustrations were far and few between, and it shouldn’t be a problem for most people. If you are looking for a game to stump your mind with puzzles, don’t pick up this game. However, if you want a fun, relaxing, and creative experience with a lot of love put into it, go buy this game right now!
Concrete Genie isn't perfect, though it isn't awful either. The short adventure is elevated by the charms and overall message. Adding things like VR is even sweeter, as are all the options you get to make this your own personal experience. I would've liked to see a little more in terms of exploration in each zone or possibly a less regimented experience but it's still a charming game that goes to show you can do interesting things and say different things and still find some kind of success.
As an allegory, bringing light to personal or cultural darkness through art isn’t terribly original but it’s still relatively surprising for any game to have a wider subtext, and besides, Concrete Genie’s deepest pleasures are aesthetic.
