Lionsgate was wise to let Bloober Team loose with its Blair Witch IP. It has treated it with respect, delivering a game that truly does justice to the source material.

Blair Witch may not be as enjoyable as games like Resident Evil 2 and have some flaws in its level design, but in most cases it has been very thoughtful and focused on details to create a title with appealing story and believable characters. Also, thanks to its fascinating enviroment design, it can take its place alongside other horror titles and become one of the best games in this genre

If you’re a fan of horror games and especially ones in virtual reality then I would recommend Blair Witch VR to you. I enjoyed playing it VR more than I did when I played it on the TV back when that version released. It still has some issues like some predictable plot points as well as some navigation issues but there is stuff to like about it too. Playing it in VR made me feel like I was in this forest more so than before and some great audio and solid visuals helped make me feel more immersed in it. Bullet is really the star of the show though and being able to reach out and actually pet him to build our bond never got old.

With "Blair Witch" the developer studio Bloober Team has succeeded in creating a solid horror title, which offers good story technical approaches, but can't fully exploit its potential. Even though the atmospheric sound and the use of dark colors completely convey the feeling of disorientation, the game lacks captivating gameplay mechanics. The interaction with the animal companion as well as the use of flashlight and cam fits perfectly to the setting - but the very generic puzzles quickly cause boredom. And even if the first minutes of the game guarantee a real goose bump feeling, you'll be sobered when you notice that the eponymous Blair witch doesn't really make a big entrance in "Blair Witch". Fans of atmospheric horror games can get their own picture of the Black Hills Forest - but you shouldn't hope for the big scary scenes.

I found Blair Witch to be one of the most stunning and scary games that I’ve played in a while, with the bonus of hanging out with Bullet. The thing I appreciated is that Blair Witch relies on creating an utterly creepy atmosphere instead of only relying on jumpscares, which there are plenty of.

Blair Witch manages to do a wonderful job recreating the haunting atmosphere and surroundings of The Blair Witch Project with its own creative twist.

Technical issues aside, Blair Witch makes for a satisfying experience with an oppressive atmosphere, an engaging plot and interesting gameplay mechanics. There’s also plenty of written plot details and collectable items dotted throughout the game, should players enjoy themselves enough to come back and attempt to figure out how to unlock some of alternative endings.

Blair Witch is, undoubtedly, a very good horror with an enjoyable, albeit a little predictable story, great atmosphere and more involving gameplay, which all take full advantage of the license. Despite some issues here and there, like the excessive linearity, little replay value and technical issues, the game is definitely among the best titles created by Bloober Team. Recommended to all horror games fans

Overall, Blair Witch VR is a solid horror experience with some super scares. The excellent audio and your dog, Bullet, elevate what would be a pretty standard experience. Dog lovers take note. Bullet is a great companion, and the game has some deft touches where you can reach out and pet him or scratch his ears. A little thing but one that really connects you to the world.

Regardless of a few technical issues, Blair Witch is a good time. The game starts off slow with a not so strong story to boot, but once you hunker down and drive through, the game turns into an anxious, dimly lit, digital embodiment of claustrophobia that every horror game fan should experience for themselves.

Blair Witch may not be the scariest title out there, but what it lacks in horror it makes up for with tension, and an adorable dog that reaffirms the phrase "man's best friend

Blair Witch manages to offer a gameplay that has reached its limits by propping it up with an intriguing storyline, a good dose of atmosphere and a couple of interesting mechanics. However, it tends to overdo in the end and, above all, he needs a little more technical cleaning.

Blair Witch is easily the best videogame take on the licence to date and an effective, frequently petrifying horror effort. Unfortunately, a much too long final chapter and pointless stealth sections late in the game sadly detract from a genre effort that is overflowing with dread and atmosphere.

Blair Witch is a creepy, tense expansion on the mythos established by the films and while it does capture the general aesthetic of the movie does stumble in trying to replicate that which made the franchise so well-regarded to this day
