Hunt: Showdown is a cooperative and competitive multiplayer FPS that knows how to innovate by adding enough PVE elements to games and a double progress system, which allows the application of permanent death to our hunters, without losing the feeling of progress. All this wrapped in a high-level audiovisual section, especially the sound section, which directly affects the gameplay brilliantly. It is an exclusively multiplayer game and its future will depend on achieving a stable and healthy community, but we can see that the game has potential for it.

Hunt: Showdown takes the concept of survival horror into a new dimension by adding multiplayer. On paper, this idea seems hard to execute but the developers have managed to successfully transition it into a video game that is satisfying to play, especially with a group of friends.
There are not very successfull monster hunters. Game looks promising, but there is ugly graphics and not enough content.

Original multiplayer action that is focused on fighting against the environment rather than a duel between players. An audiovisual gem powered by the latest CryEngin, set in the era of cowboys, guns and bounty hunters. And all this dressed in a really horror coat.

Hunt: Showdown is a great blend of battle royale and survival horror; one that is an enjoyable, but also unbelievably tense, and merciless gaming experience. Apart from being quite rough around the edges, its unrelenting nature (courtesy of its surprisingly cruel permadeath mechanic), and almost awful matchmaking logic, make this a game for only a few - a few who must put hundreds of work on it, if they don't won't to spend most of their time staring at the words "You're Dead!"
I'll admit I wasn't keen on Hunt: Showdown to start with, but after the first few matches I realised there's something special here. This is an unusual entry in a genre ruled by far snappier shooters, and it takes time to get your head around Crytek's clever twist on the formula. Stick with it and you'll be rewarded with a uniquely engrossing multiplayer experience.
It’s not something I would recommend to anyone just looking for a new shooter, nor would I try and pitch it to the masochistic Soulsborne crowd. It’s more of a middle ground game: it’s a new shooter with a very real challenge, also please buy it so I have someone else to play with.
Hunt Showdown is a worthy alternative to the usual multiplayer types out there, and it deserves to be seen as an important step in how the future of multiplayer shooters goes.

Hunt Showdown on PS4 manages to deliver an amazing tense atmosphere and it's fun to play, but the UI and some engine limitations make the experience a little bit more lackluster than it should be, for its price.

While there are occasional highlights, Hunt: Showdown is an uneven online shooter which would have benefitted from improved technical performance and refinement of its moment-to-moment gameplay.
Hunt: Showdown will keep you on the edge of your seat while you are taking down vile monsters and nasty players. Hunt is a well-themed competitive game that conveys various emotions while you play but offers little content. It is very likely that you will become addicted to bounty hunting, but it gets boring after a while.

Hunt: Showdown is a triumphant return from to steller form for Crytek. The subtle nuances, innovative gameplay mechanics and multiplayer PVP with PVE elements truly set this game apart from anything else that is out there right now.
Hunt: Showdown has been a difficult game to review, then. When you’re in the swing of things, perhaps with a friend or two in tow, you can easily sink a number of hours into the game if you let its undeniably addictive nature sink its claws into you. However, it’s hard to recommend to anyone except the most die-hard fans of this particular niche, due to its exceptionally steep learning curve and consistently unforgiving nature.
HUNT: Showdown has the potential to be one of the very best FPS/horror games out there, but the initial content is not enough to keep the player engaged for long periods of time.

Hunt Showdown is a thrilling and original take on the battle royale genre. Hunt and be hunted for the best rewards whilst walking through the lands of 19th century Louisiana. Despite some minor technical flaws, the first-person shooter succeeds in delivering a both exciting and terrifying co-op experience.

Hunt: Showdown is at first absolutely terrifying, but as you adjust it morphs into a smart, tense, and rewarding shooter that is best played with friends. It has slow moments and losing your hunter and progress can be incredibly frustrating, but those moments are all forgiven when you take down an enemy team with your sniper rifle. A fascinating shooter which isn't for everyone, but might be for you.
Hunt: Showdown is a great competitive multiplayer experience featuring a rather ruthless and gritty world to face off in.
