NBA 2K20 Reviews
NBA 2K20’s absurd production values put it alongside MLB The Show 19 as the most convincing sports game on the market, and its under-the-hood gameplay improvements mean it’s the best-playing basketball simulation ever made.
For Switch-owning sports fans there's nothing that comes close to NBA 2K20. Boasting great visuals, stellar gameplay and a feature-rich range of play types, there's something for everyone, and while VC is still a 'feature' that we'd rather didn't have a place in modern sports titles, it's been balanced back in the favour of actual gameplay.
NBA2K0 is worth your money if you focus on the game itself and not on the superficial things you can buy with your VC in MyCareer or in MyTeam. Because even as its aging graphics engine speaks to a need for a shake-up, NBA 2K20 is still undeniably the best you can get when it comes to basketball sims.
While the Czech team has been awarded the maximum number of points for their performance at the World Championship, the latest GAME in the NBA 2K series has been awarded 7 points out of 10, which is two points less than the previous title. Gameplay has never been better, but mictrotransactions, minor technical problems, and especially the deplorable MyCareer pull the game down. The question is how much the developers are to blame and how much the greed of 2K is responsible for the overall state. Fortunately, the whole issue has recently been talked about a lot more and perhaps will fundamentally affect the next iteration.

The experience of NBA 2K on the Nintendo Switch is nothing short of satisfying for fans of basketball games, thanks to its variety of game modes, fluid gameplay and the inclusion of the WNBA. While the experience is mostly top notch, the game's model of microtransactions makes it feel more like a blind gamble and can end up harming the game's standing. Beyond that, NBA 2K is a marvel of a basketball game and a welcome arrival to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Overall, NBA 2K20 is still one of the best basketball games out there, but future iterations should either ease up greatly on the VC spend or drop the price significantly, so players won't have to spend extra money.
It's the best basketball game on store shelves. What are you gonna do? Play NBA Live?
The only mode that seems to have escaped, somewhat, the microtransactions plague, is the story, which is almost good enough to keep the game upright by itself. But it's almost good enough.
NBA 2K20 keeps things fresh with some welcome tweaks to gameplay, refining a product that was already well-oiled and well-drilled. This year's MyCareer mode is an enjoyable enough experience but it, like most of the other modes, is spoiled by microtransactions. Year on year, Visual Concepts continues to push the bar on providing an excellent basketball sim. It would be nice if 2K could finally start providing fan service to match.
NBA 2K20 is another incredible game in the series, capturing every great thing that the NBA has. Despite serious issues involving microtransactions, it's still a mandatory game for fans of the sport.

As for the base game itself. It’s a good game. And this is coming from a fan’s perspective who is more willing to grind out their VC in MyCareer games. Obviously, it’s going to be a ridiculously long grind, but that’s sort of the idea, right? Give us players this long journey, but if you inject some more money into it, the game’s going to be much more fun and rewarding. At least the card pack animations for getting incredibly rare cards looks cool. This is one game that I recommend for the NBA die-hard fan. And probably only them.
NBA 2K20 is no doubt the best option available if you want to play a good basketball game, but again there aren't many basketball games available in the market.
For the second year in a row it is difficult for me to recommend an NBA 2K title, even though the series practically has no competitor. Improvements to the gameplay, though minor, are present and the content is still

NBA 2K20 is the equivalent to the 15-16 season of the Warriors. The game was able to reach the highest place, but failed in the end.

I’m tired of complaining about this game but it’s a big no from me. While the gameplay is still classic NBA 2K, this iteration has nothing new or exciting going for it.
Where it matters most (gameplay), 2K20 really shines, with the potential to thrill in ways few other sports games can.
Overall, NBA 2K20 is a good game. The core gameplay and presentation excels, My Career is a simple but enjoyable experience, the WNBA’s included, and the additional modes function but fall short because of the progression stranglehold.
A decent game is hidden beneath a money making machine.
A great game, as always, with a bad in-game purchases system and few aging problems.

NBA 2K20‘s MyCareer is a huge disappointment, and other modes have had minor improvements at best. All you’re really paying for is roster updates, WNBA and the opportunity to buy more VC. If that sounds like a good deal to you then jump in, but it really shouldn’t.
