Green Hell Reviews
Green Hell wants to put you through hell and back in an uncompromising and original survival experience with one of the best narratives the genre has ever provided to boot.
The beautiful jungle of Green Hell tries to be very realistic, which results in it being a bit too deadly. Recommended only for the hardcore fans of the genre due to the extreme difficulty.

Though full of frustrating elements, like snakes and leeches, Green Hell has some incredibly memorable elements that tie well together with the lush forest and oppressive weather effects. Though the UI aspect of crafting is a bit off-putting, the organizational aspects are interesting, engaging, and immersive and lend well to the overall experience that Green Hell provides you with. While veteran survival players may only spend a dozen or so hours in the game, Green Hell’s approachability, storytelling, and immersively gorgeous graphical fidelity make it one of the most accessible and forgiving survival titles of today.
Green Hell is a very well packaged product. It offers new ideas for the survival genre, reinventing mechanics already seen and introducing new ones: the nutritional classification of food or the diagnosis. Despite the indie mold it shows the muscles from a technical point of view.

I don’t hate Green Hell, but I do lament what it could have been. I went into the game with an open mind and a willingness to try things out. Sadly, the lack of coherent direction and awkward controls made the game overly difficult. While I’m not adverse to challenge, it is a nitpick of mine to get lost due to sloppy design. I honestly hope Creepy Jar takes my notes constructively and uses them to make their next game a masterpiece. Sadly, this particular entry is quite hard to recommend.
To play any game that is both daunting and frustrating, yet encouraging and achieving is mind-boggling to me. I didn’t think I’d enjoy Green Hell, and to tell you the truth, I hate and love it. Hours and hours of gameplay in and I feel a rollercoaster of emotions. Allow me to explain.
If you’re a fan of survival games, no matter if hardcore or casual, then Green Hell will surely provide you with a gaming experience like no other. Despite a few minor complaints, Green Hell is tense, gorgeous, immersive, and even terrifying at times. This game ticks all the right boxes for me, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of survival games. I absolutely loved playing through the story mode and unravelling its mystery, and I can’t wait for the Spirits of Amazonia expansion to be fully released, so that I can dive into that.
Green Hell tries to be a hardcore survival experience and it achieves its goal but the story needed to be more focused on the exploitation of Amazon and its natives by governments and corporations alike to actually mean anything.

Green Hell is a good story-driven survival game, even if with some problems with the controls and the initial difficulty. The co-op play option is also excellent, allowing players to distribute tasks making the whole experience more enjoyable.

Green Hell is a surprisingly great game which has exceptional depth in its mechanics, an immaculately detailed and immersive world to explore (and die in), with a story that has absolutely no right to be as fantastic and deep as it is. With a wealth of options in modes and difficulty settings, wannabe survivalists will be hard pressed to find a deeper, more rewarding experience. Despite some minor technical flaws and a punishing opening, Green Hell is a game fully deserving of your time and investment.
Green Hell is one of the more difficult survival games I’ve played, but I enjoyed the learning experience with each death and the story mode is fantastic. It did get frustrating being so realistic with the sheer number of ways you can injure yourself or get violently ill. It was a bit like playing through Groundhog Day whilst learning the gameplay loop and learning crafting recipes, but it’s worth persisting and building regular save points to allow you to explore more and open up more of the story.
Green Hell is a game that delivers so many elements that have indeed made this a fantastic game for you and your friend to play.
Green Hell is a game that’s going to be great once the developers have maggots eat away all the infected bits and patch the wounds in a lovely update-lined bandage. It just isn’t there yet, and I’m somewhat sad I’ve had my experience soured before it got there.
Green Hell is a survival game set in the Amazon jungle. You must meet with a tribe and find clues to remember why you've come to them. What will you uncover as you stalk through the South American jungle?
Green Hell at times struggles to tread the fine line between realism and fun, but still offers a solid hardcore survival experience.
If you have played the likes of Subnautica and The Forest, Green Hell: Spirits of Amazonia is undeniably worth checking out. As for existing Green Hell players, it would be a complete no-brainer to miss out on this freebie. While the story can be a bit of a mixed bag when compared to the original campaign, the great sense of exploration and survivability still remains intact at its core. As for newcomers, if you are a fan of survival games and looking for an intense and challenging experience, look no further than this
My history with survival games has always been hot and cold...
Green Hell is no walk in the park and that's exactly what makes it an excellent survival game. The game can go wrong at any moment and death is always close at hand. This will force you to fully concentrate and thoroughly enjoy the gaming experience this title offers. Not to mention the beautiful graphics of the surroundings that you will fall in love with.

Green Hell is the best survival game I played in 2019 and one of the best ever. After the tutorial the game leaves you alone in a massive, beautifull and dangerous forest fighting for your life harder and harder as you progress in the game. This forest is really "green hell"
