The controls are simple enough to grasp, but after a few story missions, you might not want to keep going. For what it’s worth, I enjoyed my time with Daemon X Machina, and I hope it finds its audience, because it’s a pretty good game, despite a few flaws.

At the end of the day, that's really the main draw. While the entire Daemon x Machina package does not hold up strong against scrutiny, it's really nailed a feeling. It's a perfect title for Nintendo Switch's handheld mode where you can just pick up and play a few missions before it starts to run its course. Like some mecha anime, it's better to just sit back and enjoy the cool things happening.

While being rough around the edges, I personally think that the core gameplay is extremely fun, and the game gives you good enough reason to see it through to the end.

Daemon X Machina is a solid, mech-action experience that wears its anime influences on its sleeve and goes to town delivering an exciting, fun, and engaging action game. While the story is unfocused, the potential is there, and should a sequel be made, I would love to explore this world more.

A powerful Mech construction kit, Daemon X Machina is a dream for all fans of combat robots, but as an action game it is a repetitive occupational therapy. It's a shame that the game design hasn't received as much lifeblood.

Daemon X Machina offers plenty of customization, and fans of mecha anime and games will love its style, but its monotonous mission structure holds the game back and keeps it from truly standing out.

If you’re a fan of the mech games of yesteryear, then Daemon X Machina is a nice trip down a road packed with nostalgia. Just don’t expect a trip without any potholes, sharp turns, or dead ends—because this adventure is absolutely loaded with them.

Daemon X Machina has found its home on PC. The game looks and runs beautifully, and is surprisingly well optimized. This is the best version of a great game, don't miss out on it.

Daemon X Machina has many of the ingredients of a great mech combat game but the end result isn’t wholesome. It’s flat, lacking in flavour, and gets stale all too quickly.

If you like the trailer, you are almost certainly going to like this game. If you like the concepts, you are almost certainly going to like this game. It knows what it wants to be and it succeeds marvelously at it. And at the end of the day, I like this game, so even with its flaws, I can’t help but feel that it deserves plenty of love for just being dang fun in exactly the way it wants.

While it could use more polish, the huge weapon arsenal and extensive customization options result in an incredibly fun mech shooter.

If you love mecha and miss Armored Core as I do, Daemon x Machina is the game for you. It has some narrative issues, but the tight gameplay will keep you wanting more.

Marvelous's mechfest looks beautiful and plays like a dream on PC, but it's held back by repetitive action.

Daemon X Machina works as you’d expect from the first entry into a new IP, taking few chances on story or combat, but delivering a relatively solid, if uninspired, twitch-heavy action game.

Daemon X Machina doesn’t end up getting too creative with its mission structure, but it makes up for it with some incredible set pieces and systems. There’s so much here for fans of mech action games to customize and explore that kept me entertained for hours

Daemon X Machina doesn't break much new ground, but the gameplay is entertaining and anyone looking for an enjoyable piece of Japanese mecha will find plenty to like here. As long as they don't get completely turned off by the subpar story and dated graphics, at least.

The PC port of the former Nintendo exclusive brings everything with it: tight gameplay muddled by an overwritten story; luckily, it's still a blast.
