GOOD - Felix The Reaper brings a tragic comedy in the form of a challenging puzzle game to the Nintendo Switch. With a catchy soundtrack, vibrant visuals, and a reasonably fun storyline narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart, there’s a good game play here for only $24.99 on the eShop.

Felix the Reaper at times leans into its quirky and unique art style. However, the biggest disconnect comes with the effort to unify this with gameplay. Puzzles often feel like a grind, leaving little mastery when all things are said and done.

Demanding puzzles with a charming main character and night-black humor. But the camera work pulls it down

Felix the Reaper is a puzzle game that does not put any structural ambition on the plate, but aims to unequivocally communicate its essence, direct and without frills as its dancing protagonist.

With a lovable protagonist and a soundtrack to die for, Felix The Reaper's innovatively designed puzzles are hindered only by a fussy camera. At its core, however, resides an inexorable charm that deems this title a truly novel gem.

A wretched, annoying puzzle game that consists primarily of tedious busywork. While Felix the Reaper has bags of personality, a vein of dark humour, and the inimitable voice of Sir Patrick Stewart, it regrettably isn't nearly as fun as it looks. As far as I'm concerned, Felix can go dance off the edge of a cliff.

Even Felix’s sweet, sweet dance moves can’t throw the game’s glaring design flaws into shadow.

Felix starts dancing and, suddenly, you want to stand up and dance too. Felix the Reaper has style, and some challenging puzzles, but unfortunately the two sides never collide. Nevertheless, a solid performance by our dancing reaper (and his developers too).

While it has its occasional little issues here and there, Felix the Reaper stands out as one of the year's best puzzlers.

A quirky love story of life, death and bureaucracy, Felix the Reaper is as effortlessly charming as it is relentlessly challenging in the puzzle department.

The personality of this world and its characters are outright endearing. However, the lack of any real narrative is a large oversight in my book. However, those looking for fun and, at times, difficult puzzles are guaranteed to enjoy what is present. With the added benefit of accessibility features and hardcore challenge modes, those who tout gameplay as king will find themselves at home within Felix The Reaper.

Felix the Reaper is a mildly difficult puzzler that will appeal to those who enjoy object swapping and thinking several moves ahead. It’s light, gory humour and unique art style keeps things fresh. I just wish there was more room for pushing things beyond set solutions. It feels more like following a set of instructions than forging your own path.

More puzzle types would have done Felix the Reaper a lot of good, but what's here is extremely charming and quite a bit of fun.
