Zombie Army 4 does what it says on the tin! In nine different levels, you send heaps of undead underground, which is child's play thanks to the simple gameplay. What becomes boring solo over time unfolds its full strength in coop. But if you are looking for more variety, you will not find it, because the name says it all: Dead War!

Zombie Army 4: Dead War isn't without its faults, but mostly it's engaging and brutal in the right way. However, the core concept that has been with us since Left 4 Dead could definitely use some innovations and we can't tolerate the lack of ideas forever.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is by far my favourite zombie-based game of all time. I’d even go as far as saying that I believe this is Rebellion‘s best game this generation – I love Sniper Elite and Strange Brigade, but this is on a whole new level as it combines the best aspects of both and adds nazi zombies and undead sharks! Although the game is clearly designed for co-op, it scales perfectly for single players and those wanting to play with only one or two friends, rather than making it impossible to proceed without all four players active. Not only is this one of the most satisfying and fun third-person shooters I’ve ever played, the accessibility options, control choices, and performance options further enhance the experience to one which won’t be easily beaten.

Zombie killing is always better with friends and Zombie Army 4 doesn’t buck that trend. Don’t buy this if you lack playing partners but if you have some Zombie slaying mates it is a blast.”

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a blast in cooperative play, and a welcomed expansion to this spin-off series showing that it can stand on its own just fine.

Zombies and Hitler are generally two things that most of the people dislike, to put it mildly, and would love to kill them the first chance they got. Well, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a perfect game then, because it allows the players to do it while having a happy banter over the microphone. It is just like Zombie Army Trilogy, but better!

This game is made for co-op play and I don’t think it would have been as much fun on my own. From screaming run or begging for someone to pick me up the laughter was always in abundance. Tight areas that made it damn near impossible to spray everything in sight kept the tension up along with a downed buddy in larger areas way away from everyone else. Zombie Army 4 looks highly improved and the gunplay is spot on. I don’t recall many complaints from the actual guns themselves just maybe more options. Some of the minor glitches of the game hold it back and the lack of variety with bosses was disappointing. The horde mode was quite different from the campaign as in the way it played and I felt it hurt the overall game. However, there is a lot to discover about the game and that might sound odd when speaking about a zombie game. This isn’t some major story-driven game, it’s about kicking zombie ass and it does it pretty well. Just make sure you bring a friend to the fight.

New mechanics, enemies and a much more fluid campaign revitalizes what – to me – felt like a dead (no pun intended) franchise. Rebellion might have taken three games and a big gamble with Strange Brigade, but its foundations turn Zombie Army 4 one of the best games they’ve ever created.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a very fun game that does not want to get lost in the plot or playable complexities that seem to prevail today and just wants you to have a good time in front of your console and de-stress yourself by ending these annoying "no dead people". A great game that stands out for the large amount of content and that is enjoyed more in company than alone as its multiplayer branch is the most enjoyable of the game and that extends the experience almost infinitely beyond its campaign.

Day one downloadable content includes mostly skins, as well as extra characters and weapons. These offer different stats, but not necessarily superior. In fact, with all the possible upgrades and skills, weaponry becomes almost a matter of preference.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War delivers all the archetypal aspects of zombie, lore from its Haitian folklore origins, novels, and iconic films. The storyline and gameplay have a classic B-movie vibe, and Rebellion gives the audience what they would want:gore, humour, and satisfying kills. The studio has taken the series to the next level with tons of undead, missions, and areas to explore. Even if this game is a player’s first experience of the Zombie Army franchise, it is a great title to start with. Rebellion has perfected the zombie shooter, and the titanic zombie shark transforms the game into somewhat of a masterpiece.

Making a zombie-based shooter game is especially hard when an idea is repeated thousands of times. Developers must redefine all items without duplication. Unfortunately, Zombie Army 4 is not a title that has been able to meet these challenges. The story of the game is almost void and completely disappears in the shadow of half-full gameplay. Duplicate stages, lack of variety and poor single-player content make Zombie Army 4 less valuable than its cheaper competitors such as Killing Floor 2. Of course, if you're a fan of such titles, the experience doesn't hurt. But if you're looking for a lasting choice, it's best to forget about Zombie Army 4.
