Dead Rising 3 is a very awesome looking game on the Xbox One that more importantly is immensely fun to play. The open-world is a treat to explore, especially getting off the beaten track as you engage in side quests, find Frank West statues for additional experience points and kill thousands and thousands of zombies.

Although it sacrifices a tad of its loveable camp factor and neon style in favor of a few other advancements, the outcome is a much stronger, more involved Dead Rising game. For once, I actually felt overwhelmed in a zombie outbreak, which is a real example of how next-gen technology can be used to do more than simply "make things look better." Out of all the launch titles I've played on both new consoles, Dead Rising 3 is my personal favorite, bar none.

Dead Rising 3 is a great way to have fun while utilizing your brand new Xbox One. Simply put, it's one heck of a good time, and is a must-play launch title for Microsoft's latest device.

It's a new day, a new dawn for the next-generation consoles and the Dead Rising franchise. Easily Microsoft's best launch title and the very definition of a killer-app, if Dead Rising 3's environmental depth and detail is a sign of things to come for the new generation of consoles, get ready to bask in the glory that is open-world games. Dead Rising 3 is an undead treat.

The absurd sense of humor and massive crowds of zombies are an irresistible combination. A variety of nagging bugs and glitches distract from the overall joy

Dead Rising 3 is an impressive improvement on the series, especially for those who hated the time pressure in the first two episodes. Nightmare mode, however, is a huge tribute to the original gameplay. Multiplayer is a lot of fun. Only the graphics are not "next-gen ready".

Dead Rising 3 proves to be one of the better launch games of this new hardware generation. The single-player is a bit too easy, and the map is far too large to lack a fast travel system. Capcom Vancouver's decision to make the shiniest zombie cliché over truly innovating on this worn out pop-culture trope was also disappointing. Most players will spend the majority of their time cutting through zombie hordes with electrified sledgehammers, however, and the mechanics of the crafting system and combat are solid enough to settle into an engrossing routine of making something and then stabbing a zombie with it.

This darker romp through a zombie outbreak is one that I will be replaying as soon as time permits, and hopefully with a friend. While Dead Rising 3 doesn't showcase the next gen visuals like that of Forza Motorsport 5 or the far more realistic presentation of Ryse: Son of Rome, it gives us more and pushes us further in an otherwise samey sandbox genre. Entertainingly enough, the game also remembers where you've ditched every item, vehicle, or parts forever – something no sandbox game can boast. Given its tight release schedule, it is one of the must-have launch titles of the new generation. The online co-op mayhem is a blast, and I heartily recommend this to any new Xbox One owner looking for an M-rated way to kill time (and reams of the undead).

Dead Rising 3 not only shows off the Xbox One's power, but also happens to be a solid zombie survival game to boot. With it's vast open-world, seemingly endless weapon combo system and New Game+, there's virtually no end to the fun you'll have trying to survive in a world overrun with the undead.

Altogether Dead Rising 3 could be the best one [in the series] yet. If you have an Xbox One then get this game if you haven't already.

Updated graphics, more accessible gameplay, tonnes of customisable weapons and vehicles, and all the zombies you could ever want filling your screen. Dead Rising 3 is over the top, bloodthirsty fun at its finest, albeit with some minor glitches and a lack of innovation that prevents it from being perfect.

With zombies, more is better. Dead Rising 3 delivers the undead and great tools to kill them with by the truckload.

Dead Rising 3 is not a game that takes itself too seriously and it is all about having a great time; and a great time you will have.  Out of all the launch games that I have been playing I have the most difficulty putting this one down and there is something to be said about that.

Besides some minor annoyances, Dead Rising 3 makes killing zombies a ton of fun with great quality and varied gameplay, awesome presentation, and tons of extra features, side quests, and collectables.

The third outing of Capcom's other, more ridiculous zombie franchise ably walks the line between approachability and the series' trademark off-the-wall quirk.

The graphics don't provide as much of a next-generation leap as we'd hoped, but the atmosphere and huge number of zombies more than make up for any other visual shortcomings. The weapon and vehicle customization options and the addition of Nightmare Mode give Dead Rising 3 the legs it needs to stay in constant rotation on your Xbox One.

Though Dead Rising 3 doesn't have the most detailed graphics nor the most groundbreaking gameplay, it's a thoroughly entertaining ride that anchors the Xbox One far from the grave.

All told, even though this is one of the better next-gen exclusives, it's still not a system seller. It's not that kind of game that's simply so good you need to go buy a system to play it. The fact is that right now on both Xbox One and PS4, we have yet to see a true system seller. Dead Rising 3 is lots of fun, but we won't be talking about it in a year. That being said, if you're getting an Xbox One already, this is a title that's definitely worth playing. Open-world mayhem, fun crafting…it's great escapism. That's all it is.
