[i]The Touryst[i] may sport minimalistic visual designs, but make no mistake, it truly is a technical showcase for the Nintendo Switch with all the effects it throws around at the same time, all at a locked 1080p60 while docked. Shin'en strikes again then, and the adventure itself is pleasing and gripping throughout. Its only shortcoming is that, in the hands of capable riddle solvers, it is on the short side of things and feels like it is over a bit too quickly.

There isn't a strong narrative that strings together this adventure, but the lack of one makes the whole experience a bit more beguiling. If I were subject to an endless series of cut-scenes where characters prattle through the exposition, I wouldn't have walked away from The Touryst as intrigued as I am. All in all, The Touryst is a fun little game, with a lot going for it. If you have the spare money to pick this up, and want something quick and fun to get through the weekend, I would recommend the game, just don’t expect too a large game, and some areas may be frustrating. You will get a few laughs and a gorgeous looking game out of it.

Ultimately, though, these concerns are minor when compared to the visual splendour and dream-like atmosphere of the various islands and environments.

The puzzles might not be the most taxing you'll ever come across and you'll blow through the whole thing pretty quickly, but overall this is a top-notch – and perfectly priced – little gem.
