Super Crush KO is based on banal and somewhat saturated concepts. Visually it is quite captivating, so the graphics end up being the main strong point to highlight. In contrast, the dynamics are basic and the plot and challenges do not differ much in terms of originality. It is good content for casual and occasional matches. However, it is not something that progresses in order to become indispensable.

Reading up on a couple of interviews with the team at Vertex Pop, it sounds like the developers were developing a game where most people could get into it without problems.

Vertex Pop are a small team, so a lot of the issues with Super Crush KO could be attributed to a lack of resources, and ultimately, the game offers plenty of enjoyment for fans of the beat ‘em up genre. That said, Super Crush KO’s issues are prevalent enough to dampen the overall package.

Super Crush KO is a delight to play. It’s fast, fluid, and hugely satisfying. But even in it’s short stay, it’s all becomes a bit too familiar. I just wish the game mixed things up more, or added more challenge overall. That said, I can’t wait for more from Vertex Pop, and look forward to the next dive into the world of Super Crush KO. But for now, the only thing left to do is award Super Crush KO a Thumb Culture Silver Award.

A good way to introduce people to action games, ultimately burdened by its reluctance to present truly challenging levels that match its solid combat design.

Floaty combat and repetition mean this cartoon brawler is never more than a pretty face.

Super Crush K.O is a fun game. The combat feels fluid and satisfying, though level design can sometimes be intentionally squished. While the enemy variety is good, their designs and that of the levels are bland. If you’re up for a short bout of fun 2D combat, this game’s a decent choice.
