Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions easily sits up there as one of my favourite puzzle games. The new ‘hard mode’ really spices things up and stretches out the time it takes to complete a puzzle, making the overall experience much longer and better value. However, despite it getting a little frustrating as the hour approaches and you’re still looking for any pieces that fit, the satisfaction you get at the end is worth it.

Glass Masquerade 2 is a great follow-up and gave me more of what I craved from the first game.

You don't have to be a puzzle aficionado to enjoy Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions. It helps, of course, as would an appreciation for quality artwork. What really matters here, though, is that the game is so well-crafted and presented that it serves as a captivating, ethereal way to spend time relaxing with your Switch.

Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions is beautifully crafted and brings hours of puzzling fun for those times you're fed up with killing and shooting. Difficulty is adequate and can be raised for the die-hard puzzlers. The resulting glass-in-lead windows are a sight. Sadly, the music is not diverse enough to keep entertaining, and repeats often. Puzzlers don't have that much choice, but won't be disappointed by Glass Masquerade 2.

While there are a pretty impressive number of puzzle games in the Switch eShop, including many that are worth your time, I can say with confidence that none of them is quite like the Glass Masquerade series...

It's a bit of a shame that despite the fact that this is the second part, the game doesn't have that much impact. Many players see the 2 as more like DLC that only increases the amount of levels you get, and I can't help but agree. If the developers added even the tiniest bit of innovation, be it in regards to the assembly itself or viewing the finished stained glass windows, it would bring a much-needed breath of fresh air to the game overall. Even so, the same applies as with the first part... for us, one of the better logic puzzles you can come across.

The words 'creepy' and 'moody' don't often come to mind when thinking about jigsaw puzzles, but that's the beauty of Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions. Puzzles often result in surreal imagery, and Nikita Sevalnev's soundtrack adds a chilling layer to the already ethereal atmosphere. With difficulty modes suited for both beginners and veterans of the jigsaw puzzle, Glass Masquerade 2 is a must play for anyone looking for more flavour in their puzzle games.

Glass Masquerade 2 is a fairly fun puzzler that is exactly what it shows on the tin. It’s a puzzle-piece game where you build an image out of glass shards, and while it has elements of Tangram games, I found this to be a lot more enjoyable and easier to get into than the Tangram game already available on the eShop. The controls work fine, it’s the perfect background game if you’re wanting to binge a lengthy movie or video, and it’s just pure puzzle solving fun.

Following along the same lines as the first game, Glass Masquerade 2 revolves around jigsaw puzzles where the player is asked to piece together a stained glass window. In the first game the puzzles were all clock-faces with a theme of cultures from around the world. This time, clocks don’t make an appearance. The clocks have been replaced with circular puzzles with a fantasy theme. The puzzles in Glass Masquerade Illusions are more intricate than the clock faces in the first game. The game is just as addictive and I find the game brilliant for playing in short bursts. It’s perfectly suited to the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch and playing in handheld.
