If you’re an RPG fan, get Baldur’s Gate 3. Now. It’s one of those titles that feels like a ‘once in a century’ experience. Its systems are deep while being rewarding and thrilling to master. Its narrative is bold, exciting, and at times, devastatingly heartbreaking. Though – to BG3’s credit – the writing never gets to the point of being overly complicated and full of itself. Even if you don’t consider yourself an RPG fan, you must play it. Baldur’s Gate 3 is that good. It’s a rare achievement that will sit in the discussion of the greatest games ever made for the rest of time. Bravo to Larian Studios for crafting a genuine work of art.

My first playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 was a marvel: beautiful, enthralling, and bursting with content. Larian Studios has successfully created a CRPG that welcomes players who are not already part of the genre’s existing fold. An 80+ hour experience that’s gripping from start to finish, Baldur’s Gate 3 fills a vacancy that has not been truly filled since The Witcher 3. Those who are deeply familiar with D&D 5th Edition may have a heightened sensitivity to some of its shortcomings, but make no mistake: Baldur’s Gate 3 is a triumph and any fan of RPGs would do well to give it a roll.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is possibly one of the greatest RPGs ever made. It’s a game you dream about when you’re not playing. It makes the possibilities feel endless, like your character’s story matters above all else. And in Baldur’s Gate 3 it does.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a phenomenal success that I didn’t believe possible with an ambitious project like this. If anyone would do it, Larian Studios were the best choice. They’ve proven how vibrant and exciting this genre can be if you trust the developers to take their time, double down on what makes a game so much fun, and use an exciting system without taking too many creative tools away from players. Letting them go wild and thinking about how this could change the narrative and the world has been an incredible experience.

Baldur's Gate 3 is an epic game, not so much for any individual element, but rather for the sum of its parts. The result is certainly what fans have been waiting for for far too many years. Great job, Larian.

Baldur's Gate 3 is, without a doubt, the most fantastic RPG I've ever had the opportunity to play and review. It offers an enjoyable experience with plenty of choices to make. With unprecedented freedom in the combat system and exploration, with full content without microtransactions, Baldur's Gate 3 is an authentic adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons. The game's size and the world's depth can be complex and overwhelming for newcomers to the genre. Baldur's Gate 3 reminds us that developers can trust the player and proves that putting together an exceptional title means risking hard work, which in this case, paid off. Baldur's Gate 3 has become the new standard that other RPGs will inherit for generations.

Baldur's Gate 3 is, for me, the best game I've played in a long time. While I feel some ideas were left on the drawing board, I won't go into details to avoid spoilers. Despite the minor setbacks, it's a title that truly stands out and will undoubtedly mark a milestone in the history of video games. If you haven't played it yet, I urge you to do so; it's an experience you won't regret having.

While Baldur's Gate 3 has its issues (what game doesn't?), it definitely deserves all the praise it's been getting and then some. Although it launched in a packed year (The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom, Final Fantasy 16, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Hi-Fi Rush), Larian Studios' latest effort is a strong GOTY 2023 contender.

I look forward to playing, and replaying and replaying, Baldur’s Gate 3 for possibly years to come. It’s clearly a role-playing game classic and has already been an overwhelming success for Larian Studios. It’s just unfortunate that I end up comparing the relatively limited power of a video game to the power of my own imagination — and it also feels like a problem the game can’t solve. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a masterpiece of a D&D game in every sense of the word, for good and, sometimes, for ill.

An incredible achievement in role-playing game design, in terms of the level of freedom and interactivity – although even ignoring the bugs it's not quite as consistent as you might hope.

The RPG legend returned and took everyone's breath away. You will forgive its minor flaws because it offers an epic experience in a well-known fantasy universe. Although the basic principles of the game are mostly well known, the way in which the characters and the story are formed, with remarkable options that can change it dramatically, all this makes this game unique.

Ultimately Baldur's Gate 3 is, in no uncertain terms, a shining jewel of design and programming, so deep, layered and sumptuous that it can be considered the new golden standard of the genre: a yardstick of prodigious greatness that will be a real nightmare for anyone who wants to embark, in the future, in the development of titles belonging to the same category.

Baldur's Gate 3 is incredible, proof that in 2023 it is still possible to be amazed by a video game. It is deep, flexible, and engaging, but most importantly, it is able to tell an immersive story dictated by the player's smallest choices. Pioneers like Richard Garriott or Robert Woodhead can finally breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy a well-deserved retirement, because their legacy is safe in the hands of Larian Studios.
