At its heart, Minecraft Dungeons is the sort of release that feels like it rides on the coattails of greater games a little too much. If this game did not have the Minecraft branding, it’s not much of a leap to assume that it would scarcely garner any attention based purely on its own merits. The gear system, combat, level design, and presentation is all fine and entertaining in its own right, but there’s little here that we could point to that elevates this game alongside or above peers such as Torchlight II, Diablo III or Path of Exile. Bearing this in mind, we’d give Minecraft Dungeons a very light recommendation to those of you looking for a surface-level introduction to the ARPG genre or for something to play in co-op with the kids. If that doesn’t describe you, then we’d suggest going with either Torchlight II or Diablo III, which both offer a more substantial and fulfilling experience of this genre.

Minecraft Dungeons is an entertaining dungeon-crawler experience in the world of Minecraft. This game basically Have everything we love about dungeon crawler games. Lots of looting, tons of combat, deep RPG elements and almost everything you can see in games like Diablo. Still, the game's lacks of any Innovations, don't let it to become a unique game or anything more than classic dungeon-crawlers.

Minecraft Dungeons is a good entry-level dungeon crawler. Hardcore gamers might find it too simple.

I would have liked to see Mojang put more resources behind Minecraft Dungeons and put a unique spin on the hack-and-slash RPG genre by utilizing Minecraft‘s unique aspects. Minecraft Dungeons is fun in short bursts but does little to actually adapt the Minecraft property into its gameplay. Mojang plans to expand Minecraft Dungeons with DLC that may address some of the issues it has at launch. However, with the gameplay loop being so shallow, I wouldn’t count on any DLC expanding the game’s depth without fundamental alterations to the game’s core systems.

Minecraft Dungeons tries to be a fun and simple dungeon crawler that everyone can enjoy playing. but it's simplicity hasn't happened in a positive way and problems with it like lack of crafting hurt the experience. but overall Minecraft Dungeons still have some fun elements like offline and online game mode or beautifully designed world.

So overall, while Minecraft Dungeons plays it rather safe with the Dungeon Crawling style, it’s fun to play either on your own or with friends. With the current state of affairs, #playapartogether and COVID-19, it is nice that there are both a local and online multiplayer so that families in the same house can play off of one console while friends can just easily add each together to go hacking & slashing against the evil hordes that threaten the land. With more content coming soon as showcased on the world map, I’m interested in seeing what comes next. Source: Ultimate Game Pass Subscription provided by Microsoft for Minecraft Dungeons Review

There are no character classes or skill trees to muddy the waters which does make the game more accessible to a younger audience but there is depth here to be found if you want it. I think Mojang have done a really good job of creating a core experience that Minecraft fans will enjoy.

Although with a competent team you can beat the game in an afternoon, Minecraft Dungeons can offer countless hours of entertainment with plenty of replay value. It's not a game of the year candidate by any stretch, but it serves as a proof that the blocky universe can work with other genres.

At Minecraft Dungeons you will fight, fight and fight. Get ready to SMASH THAT ONE BUTTON for hours to honor the hack-and-slash subgenre. Between the button smashing, there is also exploration and hero gearing. As you progress through the 9 missions of the game, your character will level up, find better gear, and unlock secret missions (5). The variety of weapons, armors, and artifacts allows the SETUP OF DIFFERENT BUILDS and gameplay styles. A game characteristic that can be better explored when playing at COOP mode. Remember that Minecraft Dungeons is INTENDED FOR KIDS, so the game is really SIMPLE AND EASY to feel in control after a couple of hours of gameplay.

A light, decently fun little dungeon crawler that doesn’t ask for a huge time investment and offers a different take on the Minecraft universe.

Minecraft Dungeons is a simple entry-point ARPG. But it could have been so much more if it leaned heavier into being “baby’s first ARPG” as well as the elements that make Minecraft, Minecraft.

Minecraft Dungeons is a blast to play. You have all the mechanics of a fun dungeon crawler with a cute aesthetic. I just hope they add in more things to do in the game before people get bored and move on.

It’s just a shame there’s no sign of the Minecraft’s primary mechanic, which would have been a great addition to the overall experience. It’s a good laugh and as is so often with co-op games, you’ll get the most out of it with your pals/family.

What it lacks in depth, it more than makes up for in pure unadulterated joy. The simplistic combat, coupled with the ridiculously easy drop-in-and-play gameplay makes for a fun and engaging roguelite dungeon crawler either alone or with friends. You'll have fun, that's guaranteed, and is perfect for all ages. Don't expect a complex story, rich with lore, but you'll almost certainly have a good time if you're a fan of its predecessor.

Make no mistake about it, Minecraft Dungeons is not a game designed for experienced gamers looking for a challenge. It’s an entry-level dungeon crawler tailored for older kids looking to branch out from the blocky open-world nature of Minecraft. In that respect, the game is worth picking up and certainly holds enough of the aesthetic flair and charm from the Minecraft IP to feel like a natural spin-off. The gameplay is basic so kids should be able to pick this up quickly and aside from a disappointing leveling up system, Minecraft Dungeons is a fun co-op experience that knows who it’s targeting and executes on that perfectly.

Minecraft Dungeons does an excellent job of taking the blocky world and characters that we all know and love from Minecraft and transplanting them into a light and breezy, kid-friendly action-RPG. The streamlined systems of character building and upgrading here are delightfully easy to engage with, levels are beautifully realised, and randomly generated slices of the overworld and the various mobs and bosses you come up against provide a fun challenge for up to four players to get stuck into. It may not be the most dark or difficult action RPG out there, but for newcomers to the genre, young kids or massive Minecraft fans, this one is an easy recommendation.
