Minecraft Dungeons moves our desires for what games can be, relying upon its own ubiquity to acquaint more youthful players with a great type and fills in as a short-however sweet reward for raider vets. It scratches the prison crawler tingle with a feeling of silly appeal and extends what Minecraft can be.

Minecraft Dungeons is a game that takes the Minecraft series to a whole new concept based on continuous action but abandons in the process the most famous feature which is known for and that is: "Crafting"

Minecraft Dungeons may not fully satisfy the hardcore looters coming from other games where they grind for gear and min-max their builds, but if you approach it with its purpose in mind, you'll likely get a lot out of it. The unlikely direction for the Minecraft formula works well in the first major departure for the franchise, and with how vast the source material is in terms of biomes and content to explore, there's a lot of room for this sort of thing to grow. It's a success from the start, and it feels like it'll only get better with age.

While Minecraft Dungeons is a fantastic title to introduce your kids to isometric action RPGs, the lack of content and missing quality of life features makes the game fall short.

Minecraft Dungeons is a very fun and definitely accessible experience for everyone. Its perfect balance allows it to be appreciated by anyone, a job not easy for Mojang Studios and Double Eleven.

Minecraft Dungeons is a simple, fun, entertaining game that deserves to be experienced more so because it is included in (Xbox Game Pass) because it offers great variety in terms of gameplay and enemies combined with a pretty art style and chill music but the game comes with a major downside it has a shallow story which causes the game to be short especially for the type of game that is Minecraft Dungeons.

The Minecraft atmosphere is good in it, although the game actually has nothing to do with Minecraft at all in terms of gameplay. You can't tear down the environment and build anything. This is just a hack-and-slash RPG in the Diablo sphere. That the difficulty level is not high, although of course it can be set higher yourself. Mojang has done everything in his effort to make the game as accessible and forgiving as possible for younger gamers as well with various health-restoring options and fun upgrades.

What is currently in the game is extremely fun, easily one of the most accessible and engaging action RPGs of the generation. The mixture of Minecraft aesthetics and fast-paced ARPG tropes creates a familiar yet unique formula that can satisfy purists and newcomers alike, both in solo and co-op. The choices made to have a game that accodomodates less experienced players takes a toll on the title’s variety and depth.

Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition isn't going to take your breath away, but it does provide a charming spin on the dungeon crawler/hack-and-slash formula that warrants some attention for fans of the genre. The core Minecraft experience is kept well in tact while re-balancing most of its mechanics to be better suited to its genre shift.

After a good 50 hours of leveling and grinding and unlocking the secret level, I have classified Minecraft Dungeons as completed until the first DLC. I have a perfect build, though not maximum power level and no challenge is a problem. Still, it must be said that, in my case, the equivalent of about 40 cents per hour of play is a pretty good figure. I am looking forward to the DLCs and the general further development. All in all, the release version of Minecraft Dungeons is very well done. I only had a few problems, although one bug was extremely annoying and made my build unplayable in a few missions. Minecraft Dungeons has unbelievable potential, but of course the developer has to decide to invest some time in it. Two DLCs have been confirmed and we'll see what else is coming.

Minecraft Dungeons brings the crafting game's charm to a dungeon crawler type of game and can be pretty fun in short bursts. Unfortunately, the game's long and repetitive dungeons get boring quickly.

Seeing as the game will cost you US$19.99, you’re paying for what you’re getting: a simple action RPG spin-off using one of the world’s most renowned video game IPs. Is it a game-changer? Nope. Is it even an action RPG to beat pioneers like the Diablo and Borderlands series? Hell no. But it’s still pretty fun and is a great gateway drug for people curious about the genre.

Although repetitive, Minecraft Dungeon manages to entertain thanks to an extremely simple game mode that makes it possible for anyone to find their ideal "level of difficulty". The urge to find new, more powerful equipment tends to keep you "greedily" glued in front of the monitor.

Very often when we talk about Minecraft we make the mistake of judging it superficially as a game for children, forgetting most of the time the depth of gameplay and opportunities that the title reserves. Even in this case Mojang offers a title that puts the fun and immediacy at the center of the player's experience hiding under the funny aspect of the brand a solid hack n slash capable of involving both young and old, all accompanied by an Unreal Engine that makes it even more immersive. The only drawback that can be found is the lack of some mechanics of crafting and interaction with the world typical of Minecraft, but the arrival of new future content bodes well for the longevity of this game.

There are no character classes or skill trees to muddy the waters which does make the game more accessible to a younger audience but there is depth here to be found if you want it. I think Mojang have done a really good job of creating a core experience that Minecraft fans will enjoy.

Minecraft Dungeons does promise that DLC is coming, whether this ends up just being a cash grab to add a couple extra levels is yet to be seen. All we can hope for is that this will give fans of the game a reason to return to the game and give a reason to grind out levels and gear, otherwise, Minecraft Dungeons will surely fall to the wayside.
