We basically decided we’d keep playing through the three major difficulties, but really because it seems like some easy gamerscore rather than an activity we’re invested in.
Minecraft Dungeons has heaps of potential, and in a year's time it may be a very different beast. But right now I can't shake the notion that this is a squandered opportunity.

Minecraft Dungeons is a simple, fun, entertaining game that deserves to be experienced more so because it is included in (Xbox Game Pass) because it offers great variety in terms of gameplay and enemies combined with a pretty art style and chill music but the game comes with a major downside it has a shallow story which causes the game to be short especially for the type of game that is Minecraft Dungeons.

Despite a few bugs and complete lack of deformable terrain, Minecraft Dungeons is a novice-friendly action RPG set in a world full of familiar creatures both children and adults can enjoy.
There are no character classes or skill trees to muddy the waters which does make the game more accessible to a younger audience but there is depth here to be found if you want it. I think Mojang have done a really good job of creating a core experience that Minecraft fans will enjoy.
A fun and charming new take on the franchise that many fans should enjoy.
Although with a competent team you can beat the game in an afternoon, Minecraft Dungeons can offer countless hours of entertainment with plenty of replay value. It's not a game of the year candidate by any stretch, but it serves as a proof that the blocky universe can work with other genres.

Minecraft Dungeons is a good entry-level dungeon crawler. Hardcore gamers might find it too simple.
Make no mistake about it, Minecraft Dungeons is not a game designed for experienced gamers looking for a challenge. It’s an entry-level dungeon crawler tailored for older kids looking to branch out from the blocky open-world nature of Minecraft. In that respect, the game is worth picking up and certainly holds enough of the aesthetic flair and charm from the Minecraft IP to feel like a natural spin-off. The gameplay is basic so kids should be able to pick this up quickly and aside from a disappointing leveling up system, Minecraft Dungeons is a fun co-op experience that knows who it’s targeting and executes on that perfectly.

Minecraft Dungeons is a straightforward action RPG spinoff that doesn't try to be anything more than an accessible entry for existing fans of the franchise. The low asking price helps offset the areas where the game comes up short.
While the overall brevity and lesser level diversity is disheartening, Minecraft Dungeons is an enjoyable experience. It's much harder to recommend as a solo player, but if you're able to hang out on the couch and knock out some creepers with a pal or head online and smash up mobs with a buddy, the weaker elements can wash away. I had a good time playing Minecraft Dungeons. I just wish there was a little more to it.
Minecraft Dungeons is a capable all-ages dungeon crawl that, while doesn't use its license to anything like its full potential (see Dragon Quest Builders 2 for how to do it right), is still good fun once it gets moving.

In short, Minecraft Dungeons is a basic, albeit competent addition to the dungeon-crawler genre. Yes, it’s a glorified new way to use the Minecraft skin but it works.
