Hot Garbage is a pretty decent DLC to JTTSP, with the same atmosphere, but the pregresion is quite linear.

Sadly, I am not having fun at all with the "Hot Garbage" DLC. I thought returning to my job working for Kindred would be just as much of a trip as the first go-around. But this vacation was a real stinker.

Journey to the Savage Planet first DLC, Hot Garbage brings a lot of interesting ideas to the game and is a worthy new content. Unfortunately the game doesn't take fully advantage of some of its new mechanics.

Hot Garbage is a DLC pack that adds a new, self-contained area and a few upgrades to the original gameplay formula. Despite that, its story can be completed in a couple of hours and the number of new activities is too small for its price tag.

Hot Garbage is an expansion that delivers gameplay that I hope to expect in future DLC, where the gameplay is centered around putting the player in situations where combat and skills are essential to progression. Though on a new planet, Hot Garbage falls short of creating an all-encompassing experience that makes one believe they're on an all-new world.

When it’s all said and done, “Hot Garbage” is an amazing addition to Journey to the Savage Planet and offers up an entirely new world to explore. With new collectibles and even the ability go underwater, Typhoon Studios built out a comprehensive new planet that adds more to the game in a way that makes it well worth the $7.99 it costs.

The Journey to the Savage Planet Hot Garbage DLC doesn’t introduce anything particularly spectacular. Instead, it serves as a helpful reminder of why the game as a whole is so special in the first place.

If you played and enjoyed Journey to the Savage Planet, the Hot Garbage DLC is a lot of the same stuff. The same humour, some different collectables, and some new upgrades. Basically, if you enjoyed the base game and you just want more of it, here it is. You’re welcome.

If the eponymous Savage Planet is your Kindred explorer's residence, the space rock called DL-C1 is a timeshare. It's a decent little getaway -- probably worth the investment, a change of pace, and the vacation is over quicker than you'd like. But, despite what the name suggests, Hot Garbage is far from a dump.

Hot Garbage was assumed to be aimed at players who have seen the whole game by now, but it ends up playing best for those still scanning the alien world.
