To be clear, I quite enjoyed Convoy but I enjoyed the PC version far more. I purchased Convoy on Steam after playing the review copy from the publisher and had a much better experience. Convoy still presents a challenge in its PC form, but it’s the challenge that Convoy Games intended players to experience.

Convoy is a solid tactical roguelike. While it doesn't offer much to make it stand out from the pack, and the repetitiveness doesn't give it the staying power of the genre's best entries, it is a fun distraction for people looking to switch things up from FTL.

On the whole, Convoy is a fun-enough game to play. But rather than making me want to play Convoy more, it made me want to play other games similar to Convoy, instead. It pulled me into the concept again and how much I enjoy it, but not the game itself, which is a shame. I went into Convoy with a nostalgic hype from the days where I played FTL a lot more, but rather than being surprised and hooked, I was a little disappointed.

Convoy is an interesting mix of Faster Than Light and Mad Max that will offer some hours of fun to fans of the genre. Unfortunately, a certain lack of depth makes him stay on a remarkable attempt without further ado. Which is not a bad thing either.

This is one of those somewhat aggravating titles where you can see some potential, and for the right crowd it can be a positive experience, but there are just enough obstacles to enjoyment that it's tougher to recommend...

The retro era style of graphics and gameplay that’s best enjoyed in short bursts is a good fit for the mobile platform. It may not be as exciting as a flamethrowing guitarist chasing down folks escaping from a post-apocalyptic dictator, but it's still a refreshing take on a genre looking for a new lease on life.
