Someday You'll Return Reviews
Someday You'll Return is an occasionally pretty game with a splash of interesting ideas and visuals that are unfortunately let down by shoddy performance, abysmal storytelling and an overall lack of care placed into its presentation.
Someday You'll Return would be a better game if it was a tad shorter, as ideas that seem exciting at first fall into the pit of repetition the longer the game drags. however, despite this, there is an engaging story and some clever puzzles that accompany the player along their experience.

Someday You’ll Return overreliance on guilt instead of the already established myths about the region – and frequently referenced – but also makes it a lesser, more predictable game. It’s an indie game trying to stand the shoulders of giants. But as it often happens. The “AAA” industry might provide great visuals but lacks creativity.

Someday You'll Return is an ambitious failure. It tries to cram together too many disparate game systems while failing to handle narrative and character in a way that could've made this game work. I wanted to like it; I went into it with great enthusiasm and quit it with an equally intense frustration.
There's plenty to admire in this smart and adventurous horror, though you'll have to endure some missteps to get there.
It definitely has its moments, but Someday You'll Return hides its charms behind hours of mindless puzzles and unnecessary filler.
Someday You'll Return is a typical psychological horror game that brings nothing new to the table.
Someday You’ll Return does some things well. It is a great psychological horror game with cool new platforming gameplay and a detailed crafting system. It also looks amazing! It is just a shame, then, that the story is as uninspired as it is, with voice acting that pulls you out of the immersion quickly. It has a lot of potential, but I would not call it a must-have just yet.
When Someday You'll Return is at its best, it is one of the finest immersive horror games I've played. Its take on psychological horror and ability to create a sense of dread is second to none, but that comes with some caveats. It can drag in parts, has some frustrating stealth sections and some puzzles that are needlessly obscure, but if you're prepared to make it through the less successful moments, there is a lot to love here.
Patient horror lovers with a taste for eastern European nature might find something enjoyable here. Otherwise, look elsewhere for your adrenaline-pumping kicks.
There is an interesting story in Someday You'll Return and a potion-crafting system that works suitably well, but players must endure an overlong adventure through a confusing forest with questionable puzzles, bad stealth, and too many clunky mechanics.
A rare modern adventure game where you not only follow the story but, you know, actually play it. But it definitely needs some polishing.

With its excellent narrative, ample content, and high replayablity, Someday You'll Return completely deserves its 30$ price tag, but falls short as a horror game. It might disappoint those who regard as a horror game, but if you choose to look past that, what remains is a masterpiece with an excellent narrative. As such the game is highly recommended; just not as a horror title

Did I enjoy Someday You’ll Return and is it worth the money? Yes, understatement of the year. It has a few problems, but that doesn’t stop it from being a pretty great and enjoyable game.
Someday You'll Return is another example for a game that got some really gorgeous aspects, but the overall experience did not live up to expectations.

That the horror genre has been regenerating in recent years thanks to independent developments, is a proven fact. With Someday You'll Return we have a proposal with well-known facets, paying homage to classics and recent games, in a five-year period of development by very few hands, and with an appearance inappropriate for such modest means. Lights and shadows in a highly recommended game, with edges, and with a bulky length for another adventure of search, exterior and interior exploration, and perhaps, redemption.

Someday You'll Return has a great idea, beautiful Czech nature and a moderately exciting storyline, but just drowns in a boring and ridiculous gameplay.
