Someday You'll Return Reviews
It definitely has its moments, but Someday You'll Return hides its charms behind hours of mindless puzzles and unnecessary filler.
Almost as quickly as it starts to get good, this genre-spanning indie horror drops the ball by tossing its best ideas out the window and overstaying its welcome
Someday You'll Return is another example for a game that got some really gorgeous aspects, but the overall experience did not live up to expectations.

Someday You’ll Return is a great 6 hour game stuffed into an over-sized 15 hour package. On the plus side, the story is certainly gripping, the graphics look great and the sound design is some of the best in any video-game this year. Frustratingly, what begins as a really interesting and hellish dive into an adventurous mystery with horror elements quickly becomes bloated and bogged down, throwing in far too many unnecessary stealth sections and obfuscated puzzles.
Someday You'll Return threatens to become a horror favourite before mundane stealth sections and repetitive puzzling that can't support the weight of CBE's narrative ambitions bring it crashing down.
There is an interesting story in Someday You'll Return and a potion-crafting system that works suitably well, but players must endure an overlong adventure through a confusing forest with questionable puzzles, bad stealth, and too many clunky mechanics.
Someday You'll Return is a typical psychological horror game that brings nothing new to the table.
Someday You'll Return is neither on par with top quality horror games, nor can compete with other indie titles in the past few years.

Someday You'll Return is an ambitious failure. It tries to cram together too many disparate game systems while failing to handle narrative and character in a way that could've made this game work. I wanted to like it; I went into it with great enthusiasm and quit it with an equally intense frustration.
Someday You'll Return is just barely worth it the first time, let alone a game you might actually come back to.
Someday You'll Return has a great idea, beautiful Czech nature and a moderately exciting storyline, but just drowns in a boring and ridiculous gameplay.

Someday You'll Return is an occasionally pretty game with a splash of interesting ideas and visuals that are unfortunately let down by shoddy performance, abysmal storytelling and an overall lack of care placed into its presentation.
Despite some interesting ideas, Someday You'll Return is much less than the sum of its parts. It's not unplayable or a buggy mess but fails to really conjure any kind of intrigue or dread despite its attempts.
A trip that’ll thoroughly test your patience.
Someday You'll Return looked promising and starts quite well. But quickly, due to some weird choices in terms of interactions, awful acting and a lot of bugs, it just turns into a disappointing and frustrating experience to which you'll never want to return.

Patient horror lovers with a taste for eastern European nature might find something enjoyable here. Otherwise, look elsewhere for your adrenaline-pumping kicks.
Someday You’ll Return overreliance on guilt instead of the already established myths about the region – and frequently referenced – but also makes it a lesser, more predictable game. It’s an indie game trying to stand the shoulders of giants. But as it often happens. The “AAA” industry might provide great visuals but lacks creativity.

There's plenty to admire in this smart and adventurous horror, though you'll have to endure some missteps to get there.
