The fanservice is very welcome and all three of the characters are interesting, but it's difficult to suggest buying this expansion at full price, unless you're a hardcore fan.

Shang Tsung steals the show in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath's additional story content, but the expansion doesn't feel like an essential part of the already superb fighting game.
Aftermath's content isn't tempting enough due to its current price, but its a good deal for those who will get the expansion with the base game for the first time.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath gives you exactly what you want out of an expansion pack: new characters, a new story, new gameplay features, and it throws in a couple of new skins for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Frost. As a package deal, if you loved Mortal Kombat 11, then Aftermath is an absolute must. It embodies what any expansion or DLC should always do: it adds and enhances the game without diluting or changing the original image. Aftermath adds fresh life (and blood) to the game and revitalizes that urge to hear the iconic words: Finish Him!
Mortal Kombat 11 finally realised a true Mortal Kombat experience on Nintendo hardware, and with Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, Nintendo Switch players get to experience this full expansion in all its glory. The five-chapter-long Story mode isn't essential, but it does a nice job of weaving the non-third-party DLC characters into the narrative, with Shang Tsung still managing to steal the show. The three additions to the roster certainly won't set it alight, but Fujin alone does bring a few dimensions to the party. It's a fun expansion, but the asking price is still a little too high at launch.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a brilliant addition to what is already a spectacular game, with the new story content proving a treat to play through and the three additional characters all adding something uniquely enjoyable to the experience. It’s just a shame that it’s so pricey, with the £34.99 price tag proving quite hefty, especially since the base game can be picked up for much cheaper. Still, there’s no doubting the quality of the content in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath and it certainly makes for a VERY good reason to re-visit NetherRealm Studio’s dazzling fighter once again. Here’s hoping that the team will continue to support the game in the future, and who knows, maybe we’ll see more top-notch content coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in the future…

For those who already own Mortal Kombat 11, the Aftermath expansion simply doesn’t add enough to warrant its additional cost, even though what’s included is decent enough.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a great continuation of the story, but the cost is rather steep for what you're getting. Fujin and Sheeva are brilliant additions to the roster, even if RoboCop doesn't work as well.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a fantastic ending to Mortal Kombat's story, and adds three fantastic characters to the game. Casual fans might find it a little pricey, but this is an excellent expansion.
...Those who have never played MK11 before can purchase the base game, the Kombat Pack and Aftermath for $59.99. This is an absolute steal for what may be the best fighting game of the generation. Aftermath reinvigorated Mortal Kombat 11 in such a way I can’t help but not recommend it.
In some ways Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath would work better as separate pieces of content that could be bundled but as a rerelease, it is shockingly good. The base game was already strong, so adding more characters is certainly welcome. It's a shame some of them, like RoboCop, won't have universal appeal and the story could be a bit better but in terms of straight gameplay, it is hard to dislike what Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is trying to do.
A compelling DLC for an excellent game. It's more of the same, but with new and interesting characters.

This still a great game in its presentation and gameplay and wealth of content and a great choice for newcomers, but for existing owners the Aftermath expansion might seem a bit light in content compared to the asking price.

Seeing a continuation of the bonkers Mortal Kombat 11 story is thrilling, and the new characters are solid additions
£35 for half a Kombat Pack and a three-hour epilogue is terrible value for money, especially as only two of the new characters are any good.
I suppose the best way to describe Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is as a finishing move of its own. Though, it’d be a Friendship, rather than a Fatality.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath lets its villains strut their stuff in a fun epilogue, and the new fighters are all welcome additions, but an overall lack of content makes it tough to wholly recommend this expansion at its full $40 price tag. Those new to Mortal Kombat 11 can get a much better deal, but if you've already bought the game, this Aftermath may not add up.
Mortal Kombat 11’s blemishes have carried over to Aftermath yet they are far outweighed by the accompanying strengths that have also made the jump. NetherRealm’s extraordinary cinematic techniques are on full display in Aftermath’s three-hour campaign and provide an appreciated touch of darkness to the game’s overall narrative. RoboCop, Sheeva, and Fujin also all earn their place on the character select screen even if none of them were topping out anyone’s most-wanted list. Aftermath’s premium additions, in conjunction with the free content, demonstrate that Mortal Kombat 11 is more than capable and deserving to survive far into the future; a true but welcome irony for a game famous for its gruesome depictions of death and dismemberment.
