Borderlands Legendary Collection Reviews
Overall, Borderlands: Legendary Collection is a Switch port that is both easy to recommend but also to avoid. There’s nothing inherently bad about the package, in fact, you’re going to get hours of enjoyment out of it, but much of it shows its age in a way that will turn some off.
The Borderlands: Legendary Collection on Nintendo Switch is exactly that, one incredible package of games that will provide hours of gameplay.

As far as these ports go, they are pretty solid. The entire Borderlands Legendary Collection runs at a locked 30 frames per second and comes with the added benefit of very quick loading times. The stuttering issues can always be patched out with future updates and the bad texture loading can likewise be solved by optimising future builds of the games. Unlike the Handsome Jack Collection, the Borderlands Legendary Collection includes the first game, as well as the second and their prequel/sequel. For ten or twenty bucks more, it would have been nice to have included Borderlands 3. Nevertheless, the package is great for anyone who has yet to play the franchise or for gamers who desperately need it on the go.
The question of whether I would recommend you getting the Borderlands: Legendary Collection is a simple one. If you haven’t played the Borderlands games before and don’t own another system that can play them, these ports are an amazing and great way to play the games. If you have played the Borderlands games before, this collection does a great job of presenting the games you’ve loved and adds the benefit of handheld play and all previously released DLC. But be aware that for the visual and performance aspects you will not get the same experience as on other consoles or PC.
All three games present in Borderlands: Legendary Collection are well worth a play by themselves. Packed together, they represent an excellent deal on the Nintendo Switch.
Borderlands Legendary Collection is exactly what it needs to be: a port of the first three Borderlands titles for the Switch. They run and look great, but they come with expected compromises, like a capped frame rate and a few issues with pop-in. While there's no hiding that the Borderland titles are on the older side, they are still fun to play with friends online. If you're up for a way to play these titles on the go or want to experience them for the first time, the Switch versions are definitely up to the task, and that is what matters in the end.
All three games in Borderlands Legendary Collection are very nearly flawless. There’s perhaps just a little too much to-ing and fro-ing; and as you go from one game to the other you’ll find that the series hasn’t evolved all that much over the years. Still, if you’re into looting and shooting, you really can’t go wrong. Gyro aiming is built into the Switch versions of these games, too, adding a new gameplay dimension. Needless to say, whether you’re a fan of the series or someone interested in jumping in, Borderlands Legendary Collection is outstanding.
Ultimately, if you’re reading this, you’re likely already familiar with the Borderlands games. With that in mind, I can assuredly say they play amazingly on the Nintendo Switch.
What we have here is the whole Borderlands franchise up to the third installment for a fraction of their original price and with ports handled with great care. Don't miss it if you love looter shooters.

This is an excellent way for newcomers to jump into the Borderlands series, and an even better way for old fans to play through the games again with the added benefit of portability.
While it may not be my cup of tea, Borderlands Legendary Collection is a solid collection of games, and an admirable addition to the Switch's library.
The Borderlands series was better then I expected. Get over 200 hours of gameplay with this Legendary Collection of the first three Borderlands games. If you're a fan of first-person shooters, then I highly recommend the Borderlands Legendary Collection on Nintendo Switch.
Borderlands brings a wealth of looter-shooter action to the Switch, guaranteeing you countless hours of co-op grinding as you blast your way through all sorts of alien creatures and various shenanigans. All of the original charm and humor are intact as well, and the game runs fantastic and with the inclusion of all the original DLC, you won't be getting bored anytime soon!
A decade of gaming in a single package, the latest return to Pandora still stands tall as a testament to brilliant game design, and even with a few technical concessions along the way, it makes for one handsome pack of fun.
Borderlands Legendary Collection is an excellent Switch showing for this beloved series, though it's difficult to determine if the price is right; sure, there's an enormous amount of content here so you're certainly not being ripped off, but it's old content and these games are routinely extremely cheap on other services. Still, it's a technically excellent port of three expansive, enjoyable shooters, and they're a perfect fit for the Switch. Whether played alone or with pals, the compulsive gameplay is terrific to dip into or get stuck into for a massive grinding session. If you've somehow never played Borderlands before, you can't go wrong with this set. If you have, but want to try a different character class on the bus ride home, now's your chance.
If you’ve played Borderlands games before and are raring for another go, then rest assured — Borderlands Legendary Collection is an excellent way to re-experience these titles. If you’re new to the series, the compilation is also perfect for an inaugural run (or seven) through each of these lovely games.
Borderlands Legendary Collection is a good compilation of three very good games, but be aware that they need a lot of download before playing them.

As a huge fan of the Borderlands series, the Legendary Collection gives me almost everything I could've wanted – a solid port that runs well and finally does the series justice in handheld form. The steep asking price and lack of new content is unlikely to sway all existing fans, but the bundle is must-have for newcomers.
