Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is legitimately the best arcade sports title to come out since Rocket League.
Coming to Captain Tsubasa as a fan of football, but knowing nothing of the anime and manga, I had no idea what to expect from this game, but I was more than impressed.
Adapted anime titles are generally dangerous and risky products; Games that are made with a limited budget and ultimately not very popular. But I am happy to say that Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is not such a game. This title proves that if an Oriental adaptation is taken seriously enough, it can exceed expectations and become a memorable title. If you miss the fiery and destructive shots of the "footballers" players, I suggest you start now and start your journey to become the number one in the world of "Subasa" football!

Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions leaves little to be desired for fans of the anime and offers a solid presentation and gameplay for an anime game adaption. Sometimes you'll miss that final touch on some elements in the game and menu and also a lot unprecise actions can leave you behind frustrated but those moments are pretty rare.

Bandai Namco has always been known for their anime games but this is the first time I have ever played let alone heard of them publishing a sports anime videogame and while Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions may not be perfect it is probably a great stepping stone for them to do more sports anime videogames. Bandai Namco and developer Tamsoft actually makes me wish for them to eventually create a Haikyuu!! or even Kuroko no Basket video game which I’m sure I will love and even more so if they ever do a Slam Dunk video game.
A great mix of action, storytelling, and wonderful art, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is an awesome arcade football game that truly deserves the world’s stage.
Captain Tsubasa has evolved a lot over the generations and has become an extremely dynamic and fun game. With the exception of the mix made with the stories – which makes no sense at all – the game manages to deliver quality and pleases even those who are not very fan of the genre. So if you were ever curious to try something different, but never found the right title, this is your time.

The gameplay is quick to pick up, but hard to master, and the over-the-top anime transitions and animations that are sprinkled throughout the action make it endlessly entertaining. Offline and online versus is sure to give you hours of entertainment if you're the competitive type, while the hefty amount of single-player story content can keep you just as equally entertained. If you were a fan of Captain Tsubasa series in the past or you like its 2018 version, you will absolutely love Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions with all of your heart! It is the first Captan Tsubasa that is completely a real soccer game and it is really entertaining as well. Story and gameplay are faithful to series and Bandai Namco has done a great Job.

Excitingly fresh, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of Champions captures a fun arcade and anime-style, and prioritises a zany, wacky experience. There are a couple of performance issues that could have been improved before release, but nonetheless, these can be overlooked since the core-gameplay mechanics are fun and rewarding to master. If there was ever a time to try out a new football game, then this is it.
Captain Tsubasa is a great title for the fans of the original anime, and remains totally true to it, but it may not be as fun for those who are new to the series.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is an absolute rush to the goal as its soccer systems don’t lean too heavily into the outrageous. Instead, it finds a perfect balance of zany and strategy through control depth and over-the-top systems. The highlight is the two very different, but equally as important story modes, with a few multiplayer options to cap off the fun. You may encounter some AI issues, and some objectives during the story mode may not sit well, but you won’t want to sit on the bench for this game.
