Its striking art style, logical puzzles, and unique atmosphere prove that Amanita Design can make more than just point-and-click adventures.
Creaks was an absolute joy to play. I could argue that it maybe lasted a little longer than it needed to but at no point did I stop having fun solving puzzles or being wowed by the beauty of the world. The story may not be one that lives long in the memory, but the characters left an impression on me and I highly recommend this game to any fans of puzzle platform games.
Creak is probably not the new classic one would expect from this talented studio. Nonetheless, the title combines the most important strengths of Amanita Design and ensures a few hours of entertainment.

This platformer has a eerie art style, it lacks variations in it’s short campaign. It plays on it’s strenghts that the gameplay is quite simple with some well thought puzles.

Amanita Design has moved away from their usual adventure style to build one awesome puzzle-platformer. Thanks to a near perfect learning curve, painted detours, and a stunning visual and musical package, Creaks is a must for fans of the studio and puzzle aficionados alike.
Amanita Design has once again delivered the magic previously seen in the like of Machinarium. Of course the main praise for Creaks comes from the stunningly gorgeous design, but behind that there's some amazing puzzles and a story that can keep you interested right up to the end. Creaks are a must play for everyone that loves puzzle games.

Amanita Design does it again with a change in direction that still embodies everything that makes them a beloved indie developer
In just a few hours, Creaks puts together a worthwhile experience that might not push boundaries but is definitely worth a look for those craving a lovable puzzler.
Creaks is a wonderfully atmospheric game that is ingenious in its execution, with a unique art style and excellent sound design. The sheer number of mind-teasing puzzles can be a little relentless at times, but the way that the game's systems evolve and interact with each other over time is incredibly impressive. If you have any love for brain teasers, you should probably consider picking it up.
Familiar puzzle-platform staples are polished to a high sheen in Creaks. It might not break new ground in the genre, but no-one can tell a wordless story quite like Amanita Design.
Though you encounter familiar configurations of levers and passageways and other obstacles, the mansion’s rooms all feel distinct, subtly interconnected in a way you likely won’t even notice unless you hit the load screen and see that every puzzle is coherently plotted on a zoomed-out side view of the mysterious mansion. Creaks hums along smoothly and pleasantly without calling attention to itself, to its sporadic detriment but mainly to its strength.
Visually striking and mentally satisfying, Creaks is a puzzle platformer that fully embraces its oddball nature. Some control and pacing niggles aside, it's a bright new genre entry, sure to have extra appeal for people with darker, cerebral tastes in entertainment.
Fans of clever puzzles and masterfully told dark fairytales will delight in Creaks. Bursting with atmosphere and quirky style, Amanita's latest is full of clever puzzles and wordless storytelling. Its distinctive flavour won't be to everyone's taste, but this is an impeccably told fairytale that will also give your brain a thorough workout.
All in all, Creaks sets out to do a few things well and for the most part succeeds.
Creaks renovates a well-worn genre, delivering one of the most satisfying indie puzzle-platformers in some time. Between its stunning visual and audio design, absorbing world, and perfectly-balanced puzzles, it's hard to find serious fault with any part of this game's construction. If you're a fan of puzzles or Amanita Design's past games, you need to grab a flashlight and delve in.
Creaks is one of PS4's very best games of 2020 so far. Its commitment to continually evolving its mechanics makes for a phenomenal puzzling experience packed full of surprises and elating moments.
