Honestly, DanMachi deserves better. It is a story where all of the elements you would need are built into it, but somehow the game missed all of that.
Overall, while I'm actually quite a big fan of the series in general, there is hardly any way I can really justify suggesting this game to anyone given the lack of polish, content, and effective gameplay given the price. The real struggle with this game is simply how easy it is, which isn’t always a bad thing if you’re looking to unwind, but sometimes you expect more challenge out of a anime-themed dungeon crawler.
In the end, Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? fails to deliver satisfying combat, falls short of being a rewarding dungeon crawler, and tells the story in a fatally cumbersome way that just isn't engaging. You'll be better off just watching the anime again.
Infinite Combate is a game for the fans, and only the fans. If you enjoyed the source material then you may have some fun playing through it. But as a videogame, as anything other than a branded piece of merch, it falls flat on its face. It’s an unfun, unfunny, unplayable mess that would rather pander to the male gaze than play well.
An utter disappointment, for fans and newcomers alike. For the newcomers, this is more likely to dissuade potential interest in a series that is so much better than this. For fans of the series, this not only does not do any of the adaptations - be it light novel, manga, or anime - justice, but it is a terrible adaptation. Low quality. Low budget. Just embarrassing, especially considering how long this has been in production. It's hard to think of anyone to recommend this for. It's flawed and forgettable in every way.
While an easy recommendation for fans of the anime, Infinite Combate may be perceived as a pricey, mediocre experience for average RPG consumer.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Infinite Combat is a game with a pretty simple combat, but it works, although the design of the dungeons is quite repetitive. Outside of this, we have many dialogues, which depending on your own taste may be excessive, but help to understand everything perfectly. The biggest problem is that they are in English. Apart from that, it is a good game, so addictive, although it is not especially long.
