“Forgettable” is the word I’d use to describe The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines as a whole. It’s not a bad game, but it’s absolutely uninteresting. Its time manipulation mechanic alone does not make up for how bland and generic its visuals, sound, and overall gameplay are. There are just way better twin stick shooters out there with better graphics, performance, and gameplay gimmicks.

The time stop mechanic is used in clever ways to solve environmental puzzles and it feels a shame this just isn’t utilized a bit more. The Ambassador Fractured Timelines is a game that kinda grew on me the more I played it. I liked the strategic gameplay where every hit counts. It’s just a shame there’s not more variety in the level design bar kill all the enemies. Still an entertaining experience from a small development team. I look forward to seeing what tinyDino Games works on next.

The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines tries to be a different game with creative mechanics and well-crafted visuals, but the lack of variety in gameplay and level design problems make it mediocre. Perhaps if tinyDino Games had dedicated a little more time to devise different battle mechanics, the title would deserve a stronger recommendation.

Boring, generic, uninspired and every other synonym for painfully average, The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines isn't worth the time it takes to say its name.

With a need top lay strategically, this arcade shooter is challenging and entertaining, it has an 8 bit vibe that works well, although overall the game feels short and simple.

In the end, it’s hard to recommend The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines. It’s not innovative, it’s not fun, the art style is not impressive, and the gameplay is very repetitive.

If The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines featured more gameplay variety besides its basic gimmick then it would've been much more fun.

To call The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines simply serviceable feels slightly unfair: the blend of mechanics from other games, along with a title that does at least offer more than a simple one-and-done run with hidden items, achievements, and no performance issues on Switch is commendable. However, it does little to particularly stand out beyond being a good enough game, lacking a unique selling point akin to Hotline Miami's drug-fuelled sound and visual handling of similar gameplay. The title functions as a worthwhile enough ambassador itself to the development team's skills, but not one that will linger in memory.

The time-stopping mechanic, while refreshing in concept, isn't enough to elevate this twin-stick shooter RPG beyond its middle-of-the-road status.

In theory, The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines has everything to be a great game: several types of scenarios and enemies, different weapons and equipment to use and a very interesting time control mechanic. In practice, it wastes these good qualities by being modest, offering fun but relatively simple challenges, failing to risk more on points that would make it even better. In the end, this is a suggestion for fans of the genre or for those who were curious about the game.

The Ambassador didn’t really click with me much at all. While it did have some cool time manipulation mechanics and controlled pretty well for a twin-stick shooter, it didn’t offer much of anything substantial that managed to engage me, and ultimately it just wore out rather quickly.
