If you’re looking for some quick, simply, local multiplayer fun, prefer the old Mario Party mechanics, or want a board game that isn’t boring, Mario Party Star Rush won’t let you down.

8 / 10.0 - Hide and Shriek
Oct 29, 2016

Hide and Shriek isn’t a game that will be recalled in the annals of video gaming history, but it is such a unique and enjoyable experience that it’s difficult not to recommend, especially to anyone who adores Halloween and the season’s general tone.

To summarize, 'Sweet Shop' is a great addition to the franchise that has a few areas needing improvement. Shop customization and 'World Challenge' are great additions, however, the multiplayer is lacking. Overall, it should be a great addition for fans of the Cooking Mama series or a nice introduction for younger gamers.

8 / 10.0 - Paladins
Jun 21, 2017

Paladins is a very fun game, and while it does share a vast amount of similarities with Overwatch (I still felt the need to address this), outside the blue rectangular shield, rocket launcher, and chained hooks, Paladins is a whole game of its own. It's a fun champion-based shooter that's sure to win you over with its own take at the currently popular genre.

8 / 10.0 - Master X Master

Despite the few minor issues with the game, MXM has a lot of unique features that make it worth trying. There's not much to lose, even if you don't decide to stick around, and it could end up being your new favorite MOBA.

8 / 10.0 - BattleTech
Apr 24, 2018

It's a tough life out there in the Periphery. It'd be nice if mission difficulty had a more easy gradient but for a game series that has been gone for so long, I'm just happy that it's not only returned, but returned in the best shape it's been in a while.

Despite its reduced scope from Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, Three Kingdoms still remains deep and engaging.

8 / 10.0 - Outward
Apr 2, 2019

Outward isn't a game for everyone. It's challenging, rough around the edges and you need to persevere during the initial three our four hours to finally see some progress. Slowly it starts to creep under your skin, each new region being its own reward, each new jaw-dropping landmark filling you with awe and a true sense of accomplishment. How you've grown, from someone in its undies into a daring warrior carrying a larger-than-life sword.

8 / 10.0 - Minion Masters
Jun 21, 2019

It's not by chance that Minion Masters offers some tremendous and exciting gameplay. A couple of years in Early Access were put to great use to give it some serious spit and polish, until it was deemed ready for unleashing into an unsuspecting crowd. Don't judge Minion Masters for its simple looks; It will spellbind you with its fast-paced and challenging battles before the first couple of battles are over.

Children of Morta is an outstanding action-adventure that benefits from the added concept of family ties. Without the Bergsons, it would be an above average but unremarkable little hack and slash game. With a family for you to relate to, this is a journey where every character has significance, where every family member feels real and valuable to the whole.

Despite its shortcomings, I loved Granblue Fantasy Versus. I've never played the original game, but the characters do feel right at home in a fighting game setting. The 6 DLC characters should be good for variety when they come out, and if Dragon Ball FighterZ is anything to go by, we should be seeing season 2 in the next few months.

The first hour or so of the expansion provides a great introduction to the setting and story. The quests involve pushing through The Maw with the help of storied heroes from WoW's lore, with frequent cut-scenes and events which make for a surprisingly cinematic experience. WoW's expansions have been a little inconsistent in the strength of their stories, but I found this narrative and its characters to be compelling. Although The Maw is not the most aesthetically pleasing zone, perhaps by design, the overall introduction seemed like a very polished experience and demonstrates quite how far WoW has come in 16 years.

8 / 10.0 - Among Us
Jul 7, 2021

We applaud the devs for realizing the potential of the game mode and we look forward to seeing how its official launch will modify it yet again. Inner Sloth aren’t stopping there when it comes to updates. As well as releasing new maps over the last year, at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase they revealed an increased lobby size of 15, new characters, as well as the delightful opportunity to honk the horn of the airship

7.5 / 10.0 - Block N Load
Dec 8, 2015

Ultimately, the game is best taken at face value. I'm sure someone somewhere will have tried to make this game as efficient as possible, and in a few cases there were matches where the usual online FPS player behaviors sprung their ragequitting, derivative-slinging heads. However, the gameplay moves just right to make this sort of thing easy to ignore, and finding fun ways to pull together and get a spectacular win or an embarrassing loss is the ultimate reason to play.

Telltale games are always great money for their value. You're essentially buying a couple of movie tickets but get a much more personal experience. Combined with Crowd Play, the value goes up, as you can enjoy the game solo and later share it with a friend while playing together.

7.5 / 10.0 - Trove
Mar 14, 2017

While I enjoy the slower, peaceful tracks for grinding, there is quite a bit of similarity between many of them, which can make the overall soundtrack feel repetitive. Additionally, the constant 'thud' sound effect from striking enemies is enough to drive anyone mad. I recommend turning the music up and the SFX down, unless you happen to be streaming your own music in the background.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate succeeds in what its original game tried to portray, which was a celebration of the franchise and the beauty of having to take on these out-of-this-world monsters from all over the series.

7.5 / 10.0 - Dead or Alive 6

Are there areas where Dead Or Alive 6 could use some polish? Yes. But at least it doesn’t feel like a continuation of DOA5, and still moves forwards in some respectable regards.
