9 / 10.0 - The Magic Circle
Jul 20, 2015

"The Magic Circle was definitely a quirky, lovingly made and interesting ride which I enjoyed immensely. The only thing I'm still unclear on is I'm still trying to decide whether the fact that it left me wanting more is a good or a bad thing."

"I'm a completionist to a fault, so I tried hunting down every single trineangle in the game. After just between six and eight hours I had collected every single collectible and achieved every single achievement in the game. I suppose this is somewhat mitigated by the fact that it has mod support and the co-op does give it a bit of replayability with up to three people able to control a character each, but it ultimately just seems to deliver an inferior experience to its series predecessors and it's a shame, because it is otherwise a great game, born of the best intentions, but brought down by its own ambitions."

8 / 10.0 - Satellite Reign
Aug 27, 2015

"While the cyberpunk atmosphere is great, the gameplay mechanics are solid and varied and the AI behaves interestingly, the combat occasionally feels poorly balanced and you may find yourself grinding for better equipment from time to time. The storytelling leaves a bit to be desired, but is enhanced by reading the in-game logs. Overall, it's a pretty great cyberpunk experience."

6.5 / 10.0 - Stairs
Sep 30, 2015

"Although it does have its fair share of nerve wrecking moments, Stairs focus on exploration and puzzles will entertain most players".

"The action throughout is pulsating with exciting combat that rarely fails to deliver, with all new combat elements and crafting system to get to grips with and some of the greatest scenery I have ever encountered in a video game, the latest addition to the series is not only a fitting one but a great sight".

"Overall, Overlord: Fellowship Of Evil had so much promise, especially after Codemasters made it's announcement via Twitter, that has all to suddenly turned to disdain with its poor construction and lack of substance. The story can be completed within seven hours with up to four players if you can find three misguided fools to share your pain with".

"This War Of Mine: The Little Ones is a sad and tragic story of one group's survival amidst conflict, portrayed brilliantly by the silent but powerful characters that help bring the game to life".

"Dying Light The Following lifts players out of the mean ravaged streets of Harran to offer up a completely different world filled with new characters and a gripping storyline along with new side quests. While the Bozak Horde and other previous DLC for the game added extra activities and a competitive nature, The Following pushes the story in a whole new direction filled with twists, turns and conspiracy theories, seriously…what's not to enjoy!".

"Navigating the hazardous river is no small feat with horrible steering until you are able to upgrade to a rudder, however, the river poses a challenge that carries with it, its own rewards. Although there is little in the way of narrative throughout the story I found myself sharing a bond with the games characters".

"Experiencing all that Tom Clancy's The Division has to offer with friends is a major selling point and one that helps tilt The Division from just a normal cover shooter into an experience worth sinking hours of your time into".

8.5 / 10.0 - Quantum Break
Apr 1, 2016

"While Quantum Break doesn't exactly unearth a new concept with time travel, it excels at combining a gripping story that will leave you scratching your head in wonder with some truly breathtaking moments of action".

"With a constant influx of enjoyable roguelike FPS titles available on today's current market, it would be hard to simply ignore Paranautical Activity. While the game certainly isn’t great or as enjoyable as previous titles, Tower of Guns or Ziggurat, it certainly has something to offer and a charm to it."

"In a market where games such DOOM run at a mighty and smooth 60FPS, technical weakness isn't something gamers will accept or tolerate after parting with their hard earned cash. Sadly, a large percentage of paying customers will be turned off by Homefront: The Revolution's technical issues."

"The collection does not look at all out of place on the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 and gives players the chance to return to Hanoi once more for some good old fashioned blood-splattered fun. The setting is perfect, the action – fast and frantic but the most important cog in the Dead Island engine is its ability to allow players to team up with friends and other players to take on the infection, that feature remains and that alone would be enough for me to part with my hard earned cash".

"In my opinion the best title in the series to date, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter is a nice step in the right direction for Frogwares and the popular investigative series in general. Its graphics fit nicely with the current generation console even if its action sequences sometimes flatter to deceive".

6.5 / 10.0 - Hard Reset Redux
Jun 16, 2016

"Clearly drawing inspiration from classic shooters like id Software’s Quake and DOOM, Hard Reset boasts a mesmerising Bladerunner style aesthetic that fits well with the games story and enemies. Some moments left me in awe, some scratching my head but overall Hard Reset is a game worth checking out, once your done cleaning demon brains from the soles of your boots" .

"Despite its largely enjoyable elements and very likeable protagonist Deadlight: Director's Cut is hampered by a sluggish combat system that leaves a lot to be desired, with puzzles that quite frankly wouldn’t trouble a small child".
