Super Mario Odyssey's unabashed sense of whimsy and charm is all too welcome in today's modern video game climate. Whereas other titles feel the need to overbear you with endless things to do, people to kill and towers to climb, Mario's latest globe-trotting adventure is all too happy to keep things simple — and in the most imaginative way possible
After a year's absence, Assassin's Creed is back and it has been reborn. And I'll happily admit that I've got egg on my face, because it's better than ever.
The God of War series has a bright future it would seem, one that many of us didn't expect or think was possible. And I'm extraordinarily happy about that.
Crossing Souls tries to channel the camaraderie of The Goonies, the whimsy of Back to the Future and the magic of E.T. and combine it all into one unforgettable video game. Safe to say, it achieves this – and a whole lot more.
PSVR has found its champion, its poster child. Quill is so happy to have you join her on this journey, and the camaraderie you two create is unforgettable.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider ends the reboot trilogy on a high note. It gives the fans what they want, as well as hope for what comes next. And I really hope there will be a next, because when it's this good, it'd be criminal to have Lara sat twiddling her thumbs.
Honestly, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the best Yakuza game to date. Its story is gripping and has a brilliant pace, its combat is tighter and more engaging, and there's such a varied range of sub-stories and side activities to absorb yourself in that it offers great longevity
Sure, it doesn’t quite look or perform its best on Nintendo’s hybrid console, but being able to dip into the game anytime, anywhere more than makes up for it. Whether you’ve got a few hours or a few minutes to spare, booting up Diablo III will always provide an entertaining way to fill them.
Put simply, this re-imagining of Resident Evil 2 is everything a Resident Evil fan could ask for, taking the series back to its roots without feeling old. It is single-player survival horror at its finest, and quite possibly the best Resident Evil game ever made.
Accessible, engaging, though-provoking, and packed full of content, Catherine: Full Body is one of those rare things: a perfect game.
Everything from its characters and its narrative to its art style and sound design is an absolute delight. It was a pleasure to play, and an experience I won’t soon forget.
This is effectively Ninja Gaiden cranked up to eleven with RPG elements and your own custom created character; one that has a demonic past that inexplicably provides them with otherworldly abilities. And if that doesn’t make you want to play Nioh 2, I don’t know what will.
As the credits rolled after a final boss fight to remember, all we had in our minds was “that was epic”. And that’s exactly what DOOM Eternal is: epic.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is the best JRPG from Square since Final Fantasy VII.
I absolutely adored my time spent with If Found…. I knew within the first few minutes that it was going to be something truly special, earning a place in my favourite games of all time. The art from Liadh Young is stunning, the music sounds and feels like a dream and its story is unique, provocative and wonderful. Very few video games have made a true and permanent mark on my heart, but If Found… has done just that.
The Last of Us Part II is Naughty Dog’s magnum opus; the result of years spent mastering its craft.
F1 2020 is racing perfection.
If you’ve ever wanted to fly a plane or are simply fascinated by air travel, Microsoft Flight Simulator is a must-have.
I’ve no hesitation in saying that Tell Me Why is Dontnod Entertainment’s best game yet.
Every detail of Crusader Kings III feels like the perfect evolution of the series.
