Slime-San: Superslime Edition is a must-have game on PlayStation 4 with a ton of content to offer to fans of 2D platformers that provides a good challenge from start to finish. The extra mini-games elevate this one into “why are you still reading this review when you should be out buying the game?” territory, so go and download this one today!
The game is so easy to pick up and play it only takes a couple of minutes to learn the gameplay mechanics.
Rainbow Skies is a solid RPG that we've been waiting a long time to play. It started its development during the PlayStation 3 era, and it shows since there are some things here that will remind you of its predecessor, but they don't get in the way of you enjoying this great release. The fact that you get triple cross-buy from it on PS3, PS Vita and PS4 is great since it means millions of PlayStation fans now have a chance to enjoy a huge RPG that we highly recommend you try out. Kudos to Sidequest Studios and eastasiasoft for giving us a great game for the PlayStation family that will be a welcomed addition to all of our collections.
Disco Dodgeball Remix is a fun, fast-paced and very addictive game which I had a lot of fun experiencing for this review. The game has a lot to offer when playing online and offline, and the experience can be tailored for players of all skill levels. The trophy list is certainly challenging and will probably make this one a rare Platinum trophy, but if you persevere and have a proper amount of patience, you will surely prevail. I hope you enjoy this one as well!
Samurai Defender: Ninja Warfare is a very fun tower defense game on Nintendo Switch that is worth every penny.
TYR: Chains of Valhalla is a good effort from Ennui Studio that shows some promise but that, right now, is held back by some design mistakes and an overall difficulty curve that is all over the place. The new patch that will be made available soon will hopefully improve this one to give us the game the team initially envisioned.
The game is beautiful but short. I would have loved it if the game was longer, since once I had finished the game it was hard to let go. The gameplay mechanics are solid, the art style is gorgeous, and the game has an engaging story that you're going to love. Sally's Law has so much potential it is a shame it's so short, but it is a very rewarding experience. I had a blast playing Sally's Law, and I highly recommend that you download it today.
Jumping Joe and Friends is a fun arcade-style minimalist platformer that is fun in short burst as you try to beat your high score, collecting a ton of diamonds along the way. Those of you with kids will get the most out of your purchase since your little ones will have a lot of fun as they give it their best effort.
Midnight Deluxe is a fun 2D golfing puzzle game with plenty of content to justify its $4.99 price. With 70 levels, half of which you'll need to play more than once to get a three-star rating, you'll spend close to at least 2 hours overall with this one… and then you'll have a new Platinum trophy for your collection!
Coconut Island Games have released a truly satisfying game in Shio. If you like difficult platformers, you'll have a blast with this one. It doesn't have a big story to keep you glued to the screen, but it more than makes up for it with some solid gameplay mechanics and platforming sections that are challenging but also highly addictive.
A Normal Lost Phone is a short experience that is different from the other games currently available on Nintendo Switch that you should definitely check out. The story is very compelling, even if the overall game feels a tad wrong since it's us invading the privacy of Sam, but it's certainly worth your time and money.
Dungeon Rushers is a fun and very addictive turn-based dungeon crawler you'll have a lot of fun with on PlayStation 4. There's a ton of content to enjoy, several characters to create your party with, and their separate skill trees and unique skills will allow you to find the right combination for the hundreds of battles you will take on, which makes this a solid dungeon crawler with a good asking price for the many hours of fun you'll get out of your purchase.
Shadow Bug is a great looking and fun platformer that stands out from the crowd with its "you can't jump in this one" gameplay mechanic. There's plenty to do in this one, and the challenge will increase at a steady pace as you complete the 36 stages in the game. The game is available for only $8.99, so hopefully you can give it a try.
Overall, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly is a gripping Otome visual novel that, while still having that romance vibe that Otome releases dig into, places a nice focus on the mystery at hand. You'll spend a nice chunk of time working on unlocking all possible paths and endings in this one, which greatly increases its replay value as you interact with different characters in new ways.
This Radiation Island review is based on a Nintendo Switch copy provided by Atypical Games.
Reverie is a that I highly recommend you play today. It's a cross-buy release, so that means one purchase will get you the PS Vita and the PS4 versions of the game so that you can play it at home or on the go. Trophy hunters are going to enjoy getting the game's Platinum trophy, but the best news for them is that the PS Vita and the PS4 trophy lists are two separate lists, which means that if you play the game from start to finish on the console and the portable, finish all side-quests and take care of the miscellaneous trophies, then they will be able to get a ton of trophies for their collection in a single purchase! And yes, the game is fun enough for you to play it twice and still find it very entertaining.
Despite the game's flaws, Tennis World Tour is an entertaining take on the world of tennis. Once the online play is live next week, and when the doubles mode is added, this will be a very robust option for fans of the sport to take on some quick exhibition matches or on the deep Career Mode on their path to number 1.
Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is a very fun game, but if you have played and beaten the regular version then, other than the short PS VR segments you might at first think there's not much in here for you, which is a yes and a no situation. The new version is running on a different engine than the one for Megadimension Neptunia VII, and that means you get improved graphics and a revamped battle system along with the new PS VR (optional) segments.
As for its graphics, the game is certainly gorgeous with a lot of attention to detail that makes locations shine. Looking at the sand and the ocean, feeling the calm around you, to then be transported to a very different, rocky and dangerous location will keep you marveling at all the hard work that went into bringing this game to life. So if you're looking for a non-linear, differently structured game, be sure to check out Infernium on PlayStation 4, a game where danger lurks around every corner!
I've had a lot of fun playing PixelJunk Monsters 2, and I definitely liked the new art style and more frantic gameplay.
