After reading my The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review you can better understand how this is a big departure from the regular formula of the franchise, and it makes this the best game in the series. There is so much to do and so many ways to do it that the sky is the limit. Different players will approach puzzles in a different way, and the game won’t say “no you can’t do it like that” to you. With so much freedom, a ton of shrines to explore, many siquests to complete and lots of secrets to discover, you can spend well over 100 hours playing the latest release from Nintendo on your brand new Nintendo Switch. This is a must-buy for all Nintendo Switch owners and a game that will be on many GOTY lists.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone is a massive release with over 200 songs total if you purchase both song packs. You’ll be spending over a dozen hours with the game just by playing each song a single time and we all know that when we enjoy rhythm games we end up replaying songs over and over. Not to mention that once your skills improve you’ll want to go up in the difficulty setting, which will, in turn, make each song feel fresh thanks to the extra icons and changes in the rhythm at which said icons enter the screen. If you’re a fan of Hatsune Miku, you have to buy this game. And if you’re not a fan – yet – this is the perfect starting point.

A Rose in the Twilight is a very interesting game with a great look and fun gameplay mechanics, but it is not a game for young kids. It’s theme, setting, and gameplay, not to mention the difficulty of puzzles, make this a release for older gamers. The story is very good, and the music is beautiful, and it genuinely transports you into the game’s universe. I highly recommend this game to all PS Vita owners – it’s a gem of a release that you have to play!

I could keep talking about how awesome Super Mario Odyssey is, but I don't want to spoil your experience with the game. Rest assured that it's Game of the Year for a reason, and a must have release for all Nintendo Switch owners out there.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is everything I wanted from a sequel to SteamWorld Dig and then some. It's even more addictive than the first one, bigger, more dynamic, colorful and charming. Once you get started it will be hard to put this one down, so be ready for hours and hours of fun!

I truly loved this game. As soon as the intro cutscene started, I was hooked – and that was even before the tutorial (that you should definitely play, as it contains some major story elements)!

10 / 10 - Severed
Sep 16, 2016

Severed is one of the best games on the PlayStation Vita. It makes good use of the portable’s touch screen for its battles, and the art, as always, is top-notch. Sure, it might be a short adventure, but you’re going to love every minute of it. I had a lot of fun playing the game for my Severed review, and I can’t wait to see what the studio does next.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an incredible game. It is so easy to end up immersed in Aloy’s world as time stands still. The game’s story is great and offers several twists and surprises. And even though I mentioned it at the start of my Horizon Zero Dawn review, this is certainly one of the best-looking games on the PS4, no question. I highly recommend this game, and if you have a PS4 Pro, you’ll enjoy even better visuals that will rock your world!

10 / 10 - Yakuza 0
Jan 19, 2017

Yakuza 0 is a massive game with a lot of content. SEGA have outdone themselves, harnessing the power of the PlayStation 4 to take us back to 1988 in a wonderful and colorful setting. The streets feel alive and colorful, and the animations are well executed. My only real gripe is that there is no Dual Audio since we only have Japanese voices with English subtitles, but this was to be expected since having an English voice cast record everything would have increased the game’s budget and development time considerably, and we would have had to wait for several additional months before being able to play this masterpiece. If you’re a fan of the Yakuza series, you’re going to love this release. And if you’re not then I’m sure Yakuza 0 will make you a fan in no time!

BlazBlue: Central Fiction is being billed as the last entry in the BlazBlue series… ever. We’ll see if that ends up being true. I have a feeling it might just be that this is the end of this massive story arc, and that a new entry in the series will come in a couple of years with a lot of new characters and some fan favorites making a return. Think of it as the Street Fighter III approach, and it sorta makes sense. Either way, if this does end up being the last BlazBlue game, then the series is going out on a high note with the best looking game in the series – and one with a ton of content and story to enjoy. This is a must-have for fighting game fans and a no-brainer for big fans of the BlazBlue franchise.

10 / 10 - Steins;Gate 0
Dec 5, 2016

Steins;Gate is a very rich and deep visual novel. Its story and diverse cast of characters will grab you from the start with a strong grip. It is a long road to its Platinum trophy, but the story is engaging, and the characters are likeable and interesting. It is definitely well worth your time and money. The graphics will mak eyou think you’re playing an anime due to their high level of polish. If you’re a fan of visual novels then you’re going to love this one!

I had a lot of fun with Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, and I’d rate it as high if not even higher than Shovel Knight: Shovel of Truth. The level design suits the dark feel of this new campaign, and the added gameplay features make the whole experience feel very fresh. As always, Virt’s (Jake Kaufman) soundtrack is top notch and perfectly fits the action. I highly recommend that you play Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment today – for the best value be sure to grab Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove on Nintendo Switch!

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Truth is a very fun game and one that is a must-have for Nintendo Switch owners. The game's graphics and music are superb, and the game's challenging levels and bosses will keep you busy for several hours.
