9 / 10.0 - Guacamelee! 2
Jan 1, 1970

Thanks to the way in which the history of video games developed, Metroidvania as a genre continues to nourish the romanticism that surrounds the titles that gives it a name. In that sense, Guacamelee!2 is a worthy representative of the genre since it complies with the elements required to be approved by enthusiasts, old and new school players. As promised, DrinkBox Studios has taken the series to the next level and everything has been greatly improved. The merit of the Canadian studio is that the game is capable of expressing itself through its mechanics.

8.7 / 10.0 - Octopath Traveler
Jan 1, 1970

Octopath Traveler is the magnificent missing link between pixels and polygons. It is game full of nostalgia with an incredible art direction, deep and addictive combat, a soundtrack worthy of the Squaresoft legacy and a lengthy although somewhat disjointed story line. If you are an old school player that enjoyed a classic JRPG , this game is definitely made for you and you will appreciate immensely. If you are new to the genre, it is a great opportunity for you to get to know turn based combat games, pixel art, and understand what all the fuss is about.

By staying true to its roots and adding some modern design elements, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age stands as a compelling JRPG that is a perfect starting point for any gamer that wants to know what the Dragon Quest craze in Japan is all about. We loved every minute of exploring Erdrea, fighting cool monsters and forging weapons in an adventure that took us more than 80 hours to complete.

8.5 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 19
Jan 1, 1970

This year's mastery of the Frostbite engine offers an impressive visual experience with players represented cose to reality. Visually and audibly its a success. At the same time, improvements in important game modes, Franchise and Ultimate Team, guarantee weeks of fun that will be driven by the start of the regular season and endless interaction with the community. Madden NFL 19 is a satisfying experience, one of the best entries in years. But is it like winning a game with a Hail Mary pass? Not yet, but it's close to happening.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Crew 2
Jan 1, 1970

Taking an American muscle car at 300 km/h along a gorge, falling hopelessly into the void and ending up maneuvering gracefully an aircraft in an instant is a pleasant driving experience that is rarely seen in the racing genre; but it's just one of the many activities that The Crew 2 has prepared. It's a game you either love or hate; while fun and accessible, not all of its elements shine as it could.

Detroit: Become Human is a design achievement in which every choice you make matters. The narrative evolves with ease, great rhythm and without ridiculous situations. This is a game that we can recommend, whether you are fond of classic science fiction. We are sure that you will spend whole evenings talking to other players about the decisions they made and how they affected the world around them.

8 / 10.0 - State of Decay 2
Jan 1, 1970

State of Decay 2 fulfills its premise without being too pretentious as an entry point to the misunderstood zombie survival genre. It is best enjoyed when you step out the safety of your comfort zone to face the horrors of the zombie apocalypse, at least until the experience becomes repetitive.

7.7 / 10.0 - Detective Pikachu
Jan 1, 1970

Detective Pikachu is an ambitious proposal with an acceptable execution. Take the amazing world of Pokémon and give it an interesting twist. The game experience is accessible to everyone. However, it may be too easy for some players.

7 / 10.0 - Mulaka
Jan 1, 1970

Gorgeous at times and frustrating at others, Mulaka is a beautiful journey with an important social message hidden in a format that is too ambitious.

8.2 / 10.0 - Kirby Star Allies
Jan 1, 1970

With good level design, charming graphics and fun multiplayer, Kirby: Star Allies stand as one of the best entries in the franchise. Its Story Mode may be easy, and it probably won't take you a lot of time to complete, but HAL Laboratory packed a nice amount of content that will keep Kirby's biggest fans busy for a while.

7.3 / 10.0 - Secret of Mana HD
Jan 1, 1970

Even if it doesn't look as good as the original, the Secret of Mana remake is a fun and exciting game. By taking the best of its source material and making some adjustments, Square Enix brings us the most accessible version of the beloved Action RPG.

9.8 / 10.0 - God of War
Jan 1, 1970

God of War is all you can ask from a new game in a franchise; very high production values, charismatic characters and satisfying combat, visceral with no lack of action. However, this is accompanied by a very well-told story, excellent animations, a very interesting new universe, fun gameplay and a new partner that develops a very promising personality. You can feel the dedication and care that Santa Monica Studio put into every frame of this game. Despite going in a new direction, God of War somehow manages to feel familiar and it is the worthy beginning of a new saga that surely has a lot to give us in the future. This is a very carefully made game that will certainly help define this generation and that is nothing short of a masterpiece.

7.6 / 10.0 - Sea of Thieves
Jan 1, 1970

Sea of Thieves most compelling activity happens when player ships clashes in PvP combat. However, PvE content is lackluster and easy forgettable, despite being set up in a beautiful world. This game has a potential unlike any other and might be the game we dreamed in 2 o 3 years.

7 / 10.0 - A Way Out
Jan 1, 1970

A Way Out intended to renew the forgotten split screen cooperative experience, but fell short in its execution. The result is not as overwhelming as you think; A Way Out is fun and it's better to play with a partner on the couch. However, if you wanted to find the holy grail of the cooperative gaming, maybe you should look elsewhere.

Metal Gear Survive is a strange and unique mix. On one hand it's an interesting survival game, on the other it's a merge of Sci-Fi elements with a shoehorned political plot and dull characters. The game has some genuinely fun and intense moments, but it's mechanics and stiff controls sometimes make the experience unnecessarily difficult. Despite all of this the game can be quite rewarding and keeps you in a state of urgency that can be really fun.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a beautiful game that takes the soul of PS1 era JRPG to create a must play experience for every fan of the genre. Despite a great presentation and atmosphere, the game can feel like a drag by it's fetch quest format.

8.6 / 10.0 - Far Cry 5
Jan 1, 1970

Far Cry 5 has an interesting story and a theme that explores dark corners of the North American psyche. The Story has some pretty good moments that make you think about what a group of people is capable of when they follow an extreme ideology and they try to impose their vision of the world not caring about anything besides what one person or a book says. But the story just stablishes the setting of the game, on top of it there is a pretty fun game, full of action and adventure in witch you'll be running from religious fanatics and blowing everything that stands in your path to put an end to madness.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an unusual success story that leaves us with an important message: in this day and age, a large amount of players can —and will enjoy— a complex game that doesn't hold you back. We loved every second: getting lost in Bohemia sprawling forests, riding horseback on green prairies, bleedin in the thick of combat and getting stuck between some odd bushes. Kingdom Come: Deliverance it's a game we can recommend, with caution due its numerous rough edges.
