The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild is as brave as it is cleaver, and as creative as it is original. Nintendos most beloved franchise never stops amaze us, but this is truly special. One of the best games of all time, if not the best.

Rockstar's eye for detail, presentation and tongue-in-cheek-storytelling makes this one an instant classic. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the ultimate Wild West sandbox-experience everyone has been waiting so very patiently for. It gives us more of everything we loved about the original and then takes it to a completely new level.

We had a ton of fun with Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. And even if Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn't add that much of news (except for the re-designed battle mode), it's still one of the best racing games ever made.

Thimbleweed Park is a remarkable adventure game, that not only feel like a spiritual sequel to Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle – it's in many ways a better game than those. An instant classic that will be remembered in years to come.

The Last of Us Part 2 is more than just an action game with narrative elements. It's a long, tumultuous story that keeps us amazed. A journey that shows on the most unpleasant aspects of humanity, but which nevertheless needs to be exposed. That's why The Last of Us Part 2 is the most important game of the year.

With a faster combat mechanic than ever, better visuals and the same challenging gameplay as before, Dark Souls 3 delivers an adventure that will hook you up for many, many hours. It might not be as good as Bloodborne, mainly because some technical flaws, and a little less appealing world – but it’s close enough.

This is an absolutely brilliant adventure, which alone can match the giants of the genre. At the same time, it is also with a certain melancholy that we are now waving goodbye to The Witcher 3.

Since we took our first steps in Avalanche Studios' vision of doom, we have found it difficult to put control aside. The combination of open world, mutant freaks and superpowers is far too entertaining, actually well above our expectations. Sure, some routes get reasonably tragic sometimes, but what does it do when the world is otherwise as complete as it is? Along with the eminent control and dynamic battles, it makes Rage 2 one of the most addictive titles of the year so far.

Resident Evil: Village takes the set-up from the seventh installment and mixes it together with the very best in the show's history. It enchants and shocks us at the same time, to the point that we become completely dependent on it. A contemporary classic that sets a new standard, just as Resident Evil 4 once did.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is all we expected and a little more. The premise is the same as in 1997, but there is still plenty of new material for those who want to explore more of the metropolis of Midgar and its inhabitants. Halo Infinte is a new start for the series that promises good. The open world means new ways to play and together with the new grapple hook it will be a pleasure to explore the huge spaces. Unfortunately, there are still many empty areas, which tells us that the game may not be fully developed. However, gameplay is on top, now only the final pieces of the puzzle are missing that can make Halo Infinite the best of its kind.

9 / 10 - Bayonetta
Apr 13, 2017

Even after seven years, Bayonetta is still one of the best action games you can get. And if you haven't played it yet (or just want to re-visit it) the pc version is by far the best choice, with 60 frames per second.

9 / 10 - Persona 5

We have waited for eight years, and luckily Persona 5 doesn't let us down. It's a beautiful rpg with the same deep mechanics, and story telling that we are used to when it comes to this series. Another masterpiece from Atlus.
