Panzer Paladin is a true love letter to NES era platformers. Blending the best of megaman and castlevania, more references than you can shake a stick at and all in a lovely chip tuned filled romp that is as fun as it is challenging.
In the end, the MyCareer in NBA 2K21 is a blast to playthrough! Adding an epic story with some amazing actors just sucks you right in. I highly recommend ballers looking to jump straight into My Neighborhood, please take the time to play through it at least once to experience it, you can tell they put some hard work into building it for us. Like an echo from last year, all sports games should strive to be as great as the NBA 2K series MyCareer mode. Give us a story and let us BE the character.
Desperados III was an absolute joy to play. The hype is well warranted and if you are the least bit interested, grab it. Gamers that aren't too keen on a lot of stealth or sneaking around may not enjoy it as much.
Sumire is a wonderful, brief story about moving forward and facing your fears. I can easily recommend this title to those looking for an emotional, relatable adventure.
Wasteland 2: Director's Cut is a fine role-playing game. It's immersive and detail oriented when it comes to the story. The turn-based combat and environments are built to appeal to your inner strategist. It's a great option for those who are looking for more turn-based strategy games on the Nintendo Switch.
We Happy Few is an interesting look at some of today's pressing issues in our society, all told through dark, British humor. The survival and crafting aspects of the game keep you engaged while you try and figure out what went wrong in Wellington Wells. Right now, the game is a bit buggy. But with future patches, We Happy Few will be a game that is worth playing.
FutureGrind is simple to play, but hard to master. It takes a certain amount of strategy to stop your tricks and nail the correct color wheel to the rail. Overall, it's very fun to play and the booming soundtrack makes for a very enjoyable experience.
This is the Police is a dark gritty cop noire game, with real-world moral choices. By having this game on the Nintendo Switch makes it an ideal game to grab and lose some hours into it away from a TV screen. Highly recommend it!
Neurovoider is a blast to play. The customization, detailed artwork, and the soundtrack all fit amazingly in this twin-stick shooter. Though lacks in online multiplayer, it makes up in customization depth and procedural levels to not make it so repetitive. At a $13.99 price tag I would definitely pick this up if you're into this genre and have a buddy or two to play with.
Just Dance 2017 offers that same great dancing mechanics and adds the accuracy of the Joy Cons. The Joy Cons are very lightweight, which is perfect if you plan on dancing for long stretches of time. While it doesn't make any ground breaking changes to the formula, it does offer a really fun experience for dancers of all ages and abilities.
Overall, Ride 2 is a great racing simulator for all fans with various skill levels as well as love for certain types of bikes. The controls offer a wide range of settings from beginners to experts. The graphics are visually stunning and it is a really fun game to get lost in and play for hours. Keep in mind that the repetitive gameplay may keep some away from purchasing this game, however I would recommend getting this game if you like racing sims and looking for anything similar to Gran Turismo but with Motorcycles.
Jackbox Party Pack 3 is very entertaining and great to play with friends. It fits extremely well with the Nintendo Switch's portability. I wish there was a way to play without WiFi, but the Party Pack won't take up too much data if you use a mobile hotspot. If you don't have it yet, Jackbox Party Pack 3 is a great addition to the Switch library.
Overall, Yooka Laylee sets out what it originally promised - it gave us a fun and entertaining ode to 3D platformers of old. The controls needs some polish. And the camera and lack of voice acting is annoying. I still recommend Yooka Laylee, especially if you are looking for a 3D platformer with many areas to explore and challenges to conquer.
Overall, Star Trek Bridge Crew is a solid experience. A couple of small details to maybe work on but these can easily be addressed in future updates. The Co-Op is fun and better then the single player missions, but single player as well as the tutorial allows you time to get used to the somewhat complex controls and help not make you look like a total newb when going into the real thing with other people online.
Portal Knights may not have been the first of it's kind, but it does a lot of great things. The enemies are challenging, you can craft a lot of items, and it is really fun with friends. Some may be turned off by the long loading times and the grind to level up. But at $19.99, there is a ton of value in this game and it is very entertaining. Portal Knights gives you something that is lacking in Minecraft - it gives you a clear purpose and goals as you play.
The challenging puzzles and variety of solutions are what makes Snipperclips a must own for the Switch. The art design is a plus, although the controllers can be hard to handle if you have big hands.
NBA Playgrounds holds it's own in the world of arcade basketball. It's challenging and very fun. Some gameplay could be tweaked and the addition of 4 players to it's online mode would really make NBA Playgrounds shine. As is, expect to have a blast playing as your favorite NBA players from yesterday and today.
Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 doesn't change the gameplay formula too much, but adds a massive open world to explore and tons of characters to unlock and use. The story and humor add to the fun.
Redeemer is solid. The gameplay is amazing and rewards you with awesome moves and gore if you can get creative with your fighting tactics. Everything about this game is epic and gritty which makes that redemption oh so sweeter. Give it a shot, at $14.99 on Steam (currently on sale at the writing of this article at $12.74) it really is worth your attention.
X-Morph: Defense was a blast to play. I never ran into any issues gameplay wise and never ran into really wanting something more. It was a fast-paced, bullet hell, tower defense, and enjoyed my time with the game. I would definitely recommend people keep an eye out for this game, especially fans of tower defenses. They add some great elements into the genre to keep it fresh and desirable!
