VGN's Reviews
The new game from Volition is a good action-adventure that's really enjoyable thanks to its twelve characters and funny actions. It is also full of incredible activities, but it's really a shame that there is no multiplayer mode to enjoy its colorful open-world along with your friends.

GRIDD: Retroenhanced is an intense and fun arcade-style experience that anyone who loved the '80s cyberpunk genre should live by closing their eyes and letting the music guide them. An easy to learn, difficult to master shoot 'em up well orchestrated by the wise conductors of the Italian indie team Antab Studio, that engages players by leaving them the desire for yet another game.

Fire Emblem Gaiden was the most atypical chapter in the series, containing elements which were later abandoned in the future iterations of the franchise. Thanks to its renewed graphics and some features that make its gameplay less cumbersome and inflexible, Shadows of Valentia could be considered the sum of what Fire Emblem saga has proposed so far.

Outlast II is a huge step forward in both narration and graphics from Red Barrels' first survival horror experiment. Even if the first chapter had a greater balance between the different gameplay mechanics, its sequel offers one of the best overall experience for those loving horror games. Ready to feel the fear?

Everything is different from anything you've ever tried in your life. For this reason, it can split the community and open a debate about the meaning of the videogames, the philosophy behind them, and what can/should be told in a game. The new creation from game designer David OReilly is not suitable for everyone: only if you are willing to get involved, you will really have a chance to enjoy the concept behind it.

While not being entirely original and fresh, the concept behind NiOh is certainly great. The new project from Team Ninja pays tribute to the soulslike genre by delivering an outstanding gameplay experience based on interesting mechanics and, of course, lots of pain. The plot may not be as rich and compelling as we were expecting after more than ten years of development, but at least most of the characters are well-defined and interesting. Despite all the flaws, NiOh laid the foundations for a new, fascinating franchise that could become one of the fiercest rivals for the future iterations of the Dark Souls saga.

No matter which version of Thumper you will play, you're definitely gonna love it. The first game from Drool offers the classic "easy to learn, difficult to master" gameplay, which feels even better on Nintendo Switch. On the new Nintendo console, the game offers the chance to move between the great TV mode and the awesome Handheld mode in a blink, while the HD Rumble on both Joy-Cons gives you a great sensation. A must-buy for every Switch owner.

With a taste for the minute detail and a remarkable sense for level design, the obscure german developer put together 13 lovely, bloody tableau vivant with a japanese setting, whose shadows house a cabal of five well assorted blades.

Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely an ambitious title, maybe even too much. We are faced with a first-person action-RPG as deep as few, characterized by an inspired, alive and vibrant game world. You will literally be dragged into a whirlwind of missions, assignments, contracts that frame a well-written and very original main plot, with memorable moments and a subliminal artistic direction. It is a pity that not all aspects of production can enjoy the same care: an unconvincing artificial intelligence and driving model bring down the experience, with a technical sector that is still far from its full realization and compromised by a long series of bugs and various inaccuracies. The hope is that console versions can be enhanced by patches announced early next year, with a focus on upgrading to next-generation hardware that should bring Cyberpunk 2077 to its rightful level, which we all hope for.

Remnant: From the Ashes turned out to be a welcome surprise: the combination of soulslike and third-person shooter proved to work in (almost) flawless fashion, despite a sometimes excessive difficulty.

The Red Strings Club is a story-driven, pixel-art adventure that let you experience an interesting journey in a distopic, cyberpunk world. Despite being too short, the new game from Deconstructeam deserves your attention if you love the point-and-click adventures genre.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole is a funny and exciting sequel for The Stick of Truth, that improves all the flaws of the first chapter by adding some interesting new features, especially in the fighting system. While the story evolves in a slow way, especially in the first few hours, the game can be easily enjoyed for several hours thanks to the atmosphere and references to the original TV show.
