7 / 10 - Imprint-X
Jan 26, 2017

Overall, imprint-x is a puzzle game you play while in a light trance. The puzzles range from simplistic to cruelly complex, the game maintains a quick pace once it gets past the hour-long introduction stage, and the gameplay constantly morphs as new mechanics are added at a rapid pace. If it weren't for that one issue with movement and input lag, I'd almost consider it worth the five dollar asking price.

7 / 10 - Brut@l
Feb 10, 2017

In case it hasn't become clear, Brut@l is a simple experience. That simplicity isn't necessarily bad, as it allows the game to be very focused on the intended experience. I enjoy the game, and for others your enjoyment of the game will hinge entirely on how much you enjoy the core gameplay: kill/break stuff to get materials for more and better stuff, try to conserve resources, repeat until boss or death. The simplistic combat leaves a little to be desired, but it's an entertaining and mostly gratifying way to unplug and spend a few hours causing a little mayhem.

A throwaway story with some design issues overall, held together by some fun early gameplay which tails off at the end. Niche fans of the genre may find something to like here, but few others will.

6.7 / 10.0 - Atlas Fallen
Aug 9, 2023

Atlas Fallen is a title that misses the mark when it comes to originality and amount of content delivered, but just manages to save itself with solid combat, good visuals and audio, and pretty good PC performance. A day one buy for only the most diehard Deck 13 fans, while everyone else should wait for a sale, and some time to free up in their very busy gaming calendar.

7 / 10 - Vampyr

I definitely look forward to more Dontnod games, while this one was enjoyable in some parts, if you're looking for a game that has a good combat mechanics you might want to steer clear of this one.

7 / 10 - Borderlands 3
Oct 21, 2019

Borderlands 3 is an OK game. The shooting and the looting is mostly good with just a few niggles here and there. It could have been a good game, possibly even a great game, but is held back by a truly abysmal story.

Beast of Winter is a nice addition to already amazing Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. It will keep you hooked, even through some annoyances for those 5-6 hours, to explore everything and learn about stories told. However, ultimately it feels rushed and a missed opportunity to do something much bigger and impactful with the Harbingers and Vatnir, who are the biggest positives of the DLC.After finishing Beast of Winter and resuming your Deadfire adventure, only Vatnir and his occasional monologue will remind you of the DLC, while everything else will feel like a distant memory...

7 / 10 - A Hat in Time

A Hat in Time is nothing you haven't seen before. Solid gameplay, a charming environment, and 8 and a half hours of classic platforming fun.

7 / 10 - BIOMUTANT
May 24, 2021

Biomutant is an original and creative new IP with great ideas made with love, but on a budget. Charming as it might be, lackluster rpg options, repetitive combat and by-the-numbers gameplay pair up with small but tedious bugs that detract from the overall experience. A game that will shine for kids or teens, unfortunately falls short of its price tag for adults, who may want to wait for a sale.

7 / 10 - Blasphemous
Sep 18, 2019

Blasphemous is a mostly solid action platformer. Beautiful yet grotesque artwork and fun moment-to-moment gameplay is held back by a few instances of badly flawed level design and some questionable boss mechanics. If you can get past the flaws there's a lot to enjoy here for fans of platformers and for lore hounds that enjoy teasing out meaning from a cryptic story.

Remnant From the Ashes is bound to be a polarizing game, much like Dark Souls was when it first released, and I highly anticipate scores to swing wildly from outlet to outlet. Players may find that their first playthrough is not what they had hoped for, and they might write the game off because of this, and I nearly did so myself. However, there is much more to Remnant than it appears, and the deeper you dig, the more you will find that the things you loved about the Souls series are present, just in smaller quantities.

A very fun 2D brawler with a striking art style, marred with an interesting story told very badly. Between the custom combos, the scoring system, and the hard optional dungeon there is a lot here for $15.

Overall, Seven: The Days Long Gone is a satisfying stealth experience. The game has flaws, but depending on your tolerance to them you could very much enjoy the post-apocalyptic world of Peh. However, if you are looking for the thrill of combat, or want an engaging story, this game may not meet your expectations. If the Seven team can fix the bugs and improve the AI and combat system this game will certainly be a piece of art, even with its linear narrative.

At the end of the day, the big question is: Did I have fun? Yes, yes I did. I had fun killing the orcs, I loved the interactions with the story orcs, and when the combat behaves itself I enjoy the siege battles. The frustration isn't enough to make me glad it's over, and I'm looking forward to the additional story content coming in later. So with that, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find that corpse-loving orc again and kill it. With fire. And poison. And curse.

7 / 10 - Outbreak
Jan 16, 2017

Surprisingly well-designed with a balance between inventory management, level-wide planning and on-the-fly judgement calls. You don't buy this for the story. For an indie title over USD 10.00 there's enough here to keep you playing longer than you think. Multiplayer was not tested at time of review.

Emergence
7 / 10 - The Dwarves
Dec 12, 2016

A fun romp through a world where Dwarves take the lead role. The great writing and dialogue make up for lacking itemization and RPG elements. Combat management can be tricky but the few skills in the game have some fun application. Anyone looking for a break from some of the more grueling mechanics of hardcore RPGs will find an engaging story-focused journey through an idyllic fantasy landscape.

With no competitive multiplayer in the game, Ghost Recon Wildlands focuses on giving a massive open world for you and your buddies to explore. With a disjointed narrative experience, great visual and audio design, solid shooting and stealth mechanics, Ghost Recon Wildlands offers a perfectly functional and fun co-op experience that is fun to play in short bursts. Ultimately though, the game becomes boring and repetitive due to it massive world, which is devoid of fun activities to engage the player with. It does not feel like a Ghost Recon game and could have been a new franchise on its own. Just like The Division last year, this is a game that had a lot of promise, and although it has its fun moments, feels like a missed opportunity.

7 / 10 - For Honor
Feb 27, 2017

For Honor is fun game to play, and a gorgeous game to look at.  If you have an interest in medieval sword fights or fighting games, you definitely should pick this one up.  For everyone else, I'd still say you can't go wrong with it, though perhaps wait until the first DLC is out which will add in some more play modes.

7 / 10 - No Man's Sky
Sep 5, 2016

With the proper expectations and the potential for some engaging future updates No Man's Sky is a fun experience to dig into for a few weeks or can be a secondary game to play while focusing on other games. Structurally, it lacks the foundation to be a core game experience, as it is lacking in enough diverse gameplay objectives.

7 / 10 - ZOMBI

A potential classic let down by end-game design choices. A compelling take on the zombie apocalypse, supported by good voice acting and interesting locations. Credible, cautious exploration mostly makes up for clunky controls until end-game.
