8.5 / 10.0 - Shovel Knight
May 21, 2015

The Xbox One edition of Shovel Knight adds an exciting challenge to the Battletoads, which alone, for the most avid nostalgics, could be worth the ephemeral cost of the ticket, but the real reasons to download it are the same as those already highlighted in previous reviews, starting with an immediate and fun gameplay and passing through a soundtrack to applause.

If we awarded The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4 with 8.5, we can only raise this vote on PC, firstly for the enormous potential offered by modding, and to a lesser extent for the excellent graphics sector, the stability of the game, the optimization of the REDengine 3 and the scalability offered by the many graphics settings available. Frankly, given the times that run and with such a vastness of play, we did not expect a yield already so solid and stable already a few days away. Instead CD Projekt RED has done a great job and if it is true that not everything is perfect yet, it is also true that perfection is not of this world.

8.5 / 10.0 - Rare Replay
Aug 4, 2015

Rare Replay represents a unique opportunity that every English software enthusiast should have. Thanks to a frighteningly high difficulty, further raised by the insertion of snapshots with challenges to the limit of the impossible, but never frustrating, given the possibility of using tricks to make our life easier, every player will find bread for his teeth, also being able to choose between a collection of 30 titles with completely different genres, from shooters to management, from fighting games to platformers.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a game capable of upsetting metal gear's very basics and every video game preconception, but at the same time it represents a glimpse into Kojima's mind of rare clarity.

On the surface, Super Mario Maker is not an easy product. There is no classic mode with consecutive levels between them, and there is only a handful of levels created by nintendo's team. It's all about the creativity of players who, thanks to a powerful and incredibly easy-to-use editor, can really make this game a small pearl of the gaming landscape.

Forza Motorsport 6 brings the series back to its former glory. We are really happy that Turn10 listened to the community, offering a more complete, more refined, more content-laden and less DLC-hungry product than its predecessor. The driving feeling is what made the Forza series famous, and fans of this historic brand will not be disappointed this year.

Hearts of Stone is in all respects a big questline, inserted in the original campaign and set almost entirely on the same map that we have already learned about. Yet Cd Projekt has managed to make it an epic and curated adventure, which largely dampens the main flaws of the basic game and enhances with its compelling narrative.

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is one of the games that makes the most intelligent use of the Nintendo Wii U's screen controller. Its name as a "terrifying game", however, is swept away by an interesting story that proceeds extremely slowly and dispersively, through topics and folkloristic elements that are difficult to understand for a Westerner. Nevertheless, certain sequences are really disturbing, and in some moments we were disturbed by what appeared on the screen.

There aren't many other words to explain that Tales from The Borderlands was a hit, and arguably the best product churned out by Telltale to date. This last episode, then, concludes the story in a crackling way, touching the right strings and guessing many finds.

9.5 / 10.0 - Undertale
Oct 27, 2015

Those who do not know him, to satisfy his thirst for curiosity will go looking for some videos and will probably archive the whole thing with the most superficial of comments, asserting that Undertale is basically just yet another title in pixel art that is worth less than everything else just because its aesthetic is secretly considered a deterrent. Undertale, in fact, is none of that. Nor is it the object of praise for certain hipsters who reward pacifist messages and invitations to civil dialogue always and in any case. It would be a stupid exploitation that does not do justice to the articulated work behind this game, which has the merit of demonstrating to an entire genre (and also to the sector) that you do not need dizziness investments to offer users something different than usual. But perhaps Toby Fox, in his heart, knows that indies are metaphorical monsters that humanity has skilfully confined to the ground. Just like in Undertale.

8.5 / 10.0 - Halo 5: Guardians
Oct 27, 2015

If from Halo 5: Guardians you were expecting an incredible qualitative leap of the campaign and the storyline, we are sorry to disappoint you, but in the work of 343 you will find only a one-off adventure that is predictable and repetitive. The courage that the developers did not have here, however, magically appeared when it was time to touch gameplay and multiplayer, and the latest in the series has therefore been revolutionized in both aspects, with dry improvements. on both sides. Let go of the attachment to the past for a moment and enjoy the new Halo. If it's multiplayer that you wait for it foaming at the mouth every time, there is great news for you.

9 / 10.0 - Fallout 4
Nov 10, 2015

Fallout 4 is the game that fans of this saga were waiting for. Or, if you prefer, Fallout 4 is exactly what we expected: a title bigger, more beautiful, more varied than Fallout 3, capable of offering a level of freedom and customization never seen in a Bethesda game.

"The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth" is a great re-release of a great game. With its gameplay that pushes you to improve from game to game and its simple but effective artistic direction you will not even notice all the hours it will have taken away from you until you read them on the Steam counter.
