Nidhogg 2 is a gross fighting game. Like, really gross.

7.5 / 10.0 - Call of Duty: WWII

It captures all the joys in multiplayer that we felt back in 2008 without completely losing everything that makes a modern COD so great.

7.5 / 10.0 - Unexplored
Aug 7, 2018

The world building in Unexplored is extraordinary. While there can be an occasional moment of lag while the game basically builds the world around you, most of the time it is seamless.

Overall, while short, the compelling nature of She Remembered Caterpillars more than makes up for this shortcoming. It offers enough of a challenge to stump you into working to decipher the puzzles, while not punishing you for your attempts.

In The Final Station, you're never quite entirely sure what is going on, but it also doesn't matter because you'll enjoy the ride.

7.5 / 10.0 - Donut County
Aug 27, 2018

We recommend Donut County to anyone looking for a short, yet enjoyable game to play for a few hours. Since the mechanics are easy to pick up and the themes of the game can be easily understood, we believe this is a great game for all ages and is even one to enjoy with kids on the weekend.

7.5 / 10.0 - We Happy Few
Aug 13, 2018

Fans of walking simulators and story driven games will find a lot to love here. While some of the systems in the game are rather intricate they tend to be unnecessary and even tedious at times, making the gameplay and puzzles overall drab and boring. With such a mixed bag of elements it’s hard to recommend We Happy Few to anyone that isn’t up for a long game that is story based.

Despite some monotonous grinding and areas that can be a bit overburdened with lore, CrossCode (from @RadicalFishGame) should not be missed by those who haven't had the pleasure of experiencing it before.

There’s very little indication that Journey to the Savage Planet wasn’t made by a AAA studio. The quality and time put into each part of the world are superb. By the end the gameplay loop gets a bit stale and the magic wears off, but wow… the first few hours are riveting.

8 / 10.0 - Demon Pit
Oct 16, 2019

There’s not much more to say about Demon Pit, it’s a horde mode that looks and feels like a classic FPS, if that’s not enough to make you excited to play it….nothing will.

Trine 4’s varied and accessible approach to puzzle solving help it to stand out as a somewhat memorable and amusing experience. A charming world with an endearing cast of characters ensure that this lighthearted adventure remains enjoyable and never too trying. While there are some tedious combat sequences and balancing issues with your three characters, these never get in the way of what Trine 4 has to offer. At a budget price, Trine 4 is as easy to recommend as it is to pick up and play.

8 / 10.0 - Sin Slayers
Sep 5, 2019

Sin Slayers will appeal to fans of modern and classic JRPGs alike. With a simple battle system, yet complex sin mechanic, mixed with procedurally generated levels and seven distinct regions to explore, Sin Slayers never feels repetitive. Created by a small team of five in Russia, this game is a breath of fresh air in a crowded year for games. One negative is the translation of the narrator in that sometimes what he says doesn’t match what is written in the subtitles. But that’s a small complaint that never really takes away from the experience.
