Halo Infinite is a successful launch and made a huge comeback despite the negativity. It is one of the best first-player shooters I have played this year and really built upon what the franchise has to offer. Despite some issues and poor level design I overall am extremely enjoying the game and I can’t wait for the campaign to release.
So, to finally put a nail in this coffin, I give this game 8.5 slain demons out of 10. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is available on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and Steam. Remember, when you are playing the game and all else fails, switch to the shotgun!
Rain World is an incredible adventure and rewards persistence while being an extremely aesthetically pleasing game. Paying homage to older games with its design, it still feels like its own entity. To me, this is nostalgia done right.
In short, Far Cry 5 is a fantastic addition to the series, bringing an exciting campaign with a unique villain to drive the player forward.
Rigid Force Alpha is a truly fantastic bullet hell shooter. The breakneck action combined with beautiful 3D environments make this game both fun and challenging. The harsh knockback coupled with the limited amount of lives and continues allows for the player to progressively get better at playing the game. This a great "lunch break" title and I highly recommend it to everyone.
I was pleasantly surprised by this title. The idea of destroying diseases at a cellular level makes for a fun and exciting gaming experience. Bacterium combines both the simplicity of a hack n’ slash with the complexity of a nuanced RPG. The ethereal feeling of being within the human body feels claustrophobic, but also seems natural at the same time. This game is an excellent addition to any Steam catalog.
Layers of Fear 2 is an amazing psychological thriller game that takes you in-depth of horror history and it’s building blocks. From the visuals to the story, to the sound, Layers of Fear 2 has encompassed that of which makes a horror game, a horror game.
Overall the game is a great experience providing excellent game modes and strong performance. The card system added a unique element to the genre, and the gameplay was very well designed. Back 4 Blood is a perfect successor for Left 4 Dead with old ideas mixed with new innovation.
While the game is not as competitive as the legendary AOE 2, it is still a great entry to the series. While the game felt safe and lacking in some areas, it offers a great campaign mode and coop experience. Age of Empires IV is a more relaxed and modern version that provides players a relaxing escape and a good starting point for the series.
Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse is a point-and-click adventure that harkens back to the great titles that inspired it. Its puzzles are challenging, and completing them gives the player a great sense of accomplishment. If you want a true gaming challenge that will stretch your mind and endurance, then this is the game for you.
Atelier Sophie's highly addictive game-play through its alchemy systems help mitigate the blow the game takes from its ultimately underwhelming storyline, especially for a JRPG. Nevertheless, Atelier Sophie is an enjoyable game for those looking for a JRPG with a focus more on crafting rather than story-line or combat.
Torment is different to other RPGs, and cRPGs, and gave me more of an interaction focused experience than other games within the genre. It's complex, detailed, thoughtful, and it dares to be different. It's also a classic RPG with all it entails. It brought back memories from playing Fallout and Baldur's Gate and it underscores why I love this particular genre with the heavy focus on character interaction, exploration and solving puzzles.
Portal Knights is a pleasant surprise. It's not often a game makes me feel bouncy, and I definitely see myself playing this more in the future.
At worst, this is a well designed and well made Megaman-style game. At best it's hours of addicting yet frustrating gameplay to finish the main storyline. Given it's reasonable price ($10 USD), it's absolutely worth picking up for anyone who enjoys these style of games.
In short, Leaving Lyndow is a magnificent example of interactive storytelling that keeps you enthralled in the storyline until it's rapid conclusion.
Outlast II is a very good game.
SmuggleCraft is an exciting racer that pretty much does everything a good racer should. My one and only complaint I have for this game is that it is slightly repetitive if played too often within a short amount of time. Otherwise, I can easily recommend this game to those looking for good multiplayer fun in a racing experience.
The price is fair & reasonable, and the game pack is overall a lot of fun to work with.
Book 1 has introduced enough compelling characters and conflict that I am actually very eager to play Book 2 when it is available later this year.
Frostpunk is simply breath-taking. The game can keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat for hours. Unfortunately, this is why the game falls short.
