PowerUp!'s Reviews
There is a good time to be had here, just don't expect to be going back to it again after you're done
I’m tired of complaining about this game but it’s a big no from me. While the gameplay is still classic NBA 2K, this iteration has nothing new or exciting going for it.
And that’s the real issue here: the previous game was a story and a damned good one. Watch Dogs Legion is a playground and a damned good one. All it took was a shift in priorities to make the open-world feel less like a world, and more like… well, a game.
Ultimately, let down by a lacklustre combat system that is far too repetitive and frequent, Paper Mario: The Origami King is only... ok. It's still worth playing for the wonderful visuals and excellent storytelling but don't expect a true Mario RPG.
There’s plenty of fun to be had but it’s not quite the Nazi killing romp I wanted
The Cinema Rosa presents a fascinating mirror image of its creator and how a vision to create something that feels pure can often collide dramatically with reality.
This game is addictive as hell and although it gets repetitive at times I found myself blowing away a large part of my weekend
Rage 2 feels like a game from 10 years ago and I'm still not sure whether that's a compliment or an insult. It's certainly not the worst game you'll play, but it's never going to be the best.
City of the Shroud offers an ‘OK’ RPG experience wrapped around a fun and interesting combat system core.
System Shock is less of a modern means through which to experience the best of the original but a separate beast, one far clumsier but in much nicer lipstick.
In the moment-to-moment gameplay, it literally feels identical, but that's because it is. Anything new in Dead Space doesn't enhance the experience, it detracts from it. So, we're left with a worse version of a game that looks vastly superior.
Basically, Gotham Knights got pushed out of the belfry when it was only barely, kinda, sorta ready to fly.
I wouldn’t recommend this game unless you were both desperate to fill the hole in the MotoGP calendar and a hardcore racing sim enthusiast.
If you’re after mini-games, you’re better off playing Super Mario Party, but Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is a close second.
The bones of a great game exist within the second entry, even today, but lop-sided gameplay and uninspired presentation obscure them far too much.
I like Space Invaders, so I like Doughlings Invasion. The RPG touches and variety of enemies add a little something extra to the mix
If you’re a fan of Tokyo RPG Factory’s games or JRPGs, go ahead and check Oninaki out. It’s an interesting take on the genre, and on some tricky topics that are rarely tackled in games. Otherwise—and especially if you’re likely to find such content difficult—give it a miss.
Degrees of Separation has a great hook that it, unfortunately, squanders through mindless, repetitive puzzle solving.
The visuals and audio are excellent and the gameplay is challenging and rewarding. If only it were easier to find your way around.
Another Sight is a reasonably enjoyable adventure for those enjoy puzzle-solving and listening to the Queen's English.
