9 / 10.0 - MLB 18: The Show
Apr 4, 2018

MLB The Show 18 is one of the most impressive sports games to date. It's packed with features and is friendly to those just starting out and those who are well versed in the world of baseball. It's a game with so many options that you'll likely be playing a year from now.

8 / 10.0 - Rogue Aces
Apr 11, 2018

Rogue Aces is a title which has that 'just one more go' feel. You'll try and fail a lot, but then you'll go back again and again until you eventually defeat the enemy at its own game and advance on their territory, unlocking new game modes along the way. Yes, it's tough, but stick with it and you'll be rewarded. No-one ever said fighting in a war was easy, but thanks to Rogue Aces it's bloody good fun.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’s initial release on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 was significantly overshadowed by the simultaneous release of Assassin’s Creed: Unity as naturally, the greater part of players turned to the game released on next gen consoles (at the time). That said, many never embarked upon Shay’s journey, including myself making the remastering of this title a divine opportunity to fill in some blanks for presumably, a vast portion of Assassin’s Creed players.

Dropping in like a hard-earned supply drop is Call Of Duty: WWII’s second expansive DLC pack, The War Machine. In this second helping of DLC content, Sledgehammer Games have introduced three new multiplayer maps, an new operation for the objective-orientated War Mode and hell continues to ensue in a brand new Nazi Zombies chapter. Although this expansion will no doubt test your patience with frustratingly dysfunctional spawn points, it also breathes a refreshed ambience into the franchise as we see two new settings make their way onto the playlists of the shooter series popular online multiplayer.

10 / 10.0 - God of War
Apr 21, 2018

God of War is a wonderful, immersive game which has everything. The story is powerful and touching, the action is fast paced, the world complex and the presentation is truly stunning. God of War is one of the best games I have ever played. It's a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

The Swords of Ditto is a fantastic game and given the low price, I cannot recommend it highly enough. There’s so much charm to the design and so much fun to be had out of the gameplay, that you’ll be thinking about it even when you are not playing. The Swords of Ditto is yet another example of what a smaller developer can bring to the world of console gaming. It’s an experience which is not to be missed.

Detroit’s ability to manipulate human emotion which causes it to become a truly memorable experience. The game will present you with a selection of imperfect options, and plenty of your choices will leave you questioning your personal ethics. Detroit: Become Human is intelligent sci-fi at its finest.

8 / 10.0 - Onrush
Jun 4, 2018

I have to admit to worrying about OnRush after playing the pre-release Beta as it did nothing to convince me this is a game I wanted. Thankfully the full game changed my perception for the better and made me realise what a fun and addictive game OnRush is. Sure there’s no finish line, but once it hooks its claws in you won’t want it to finish anyway.

8 / 10.0 - Vampyr
Jun 4, 2018

Vampyr is a game which has certainly surprised me and I’ve really enjoyed my time with it. The RPG elements, player choice and combat all seem to compliment each other perfectly, which in turn makes for a very good game.

9.5 / 10.0 - Old Man’s Journey
Jun 12, 2018

In short, Old Man’s Journey is a pleasant meander through an old man’s life and the town he lives in. It’s a masterclass in visual storytelling one which draws out emotion from every player. This touching tale is a path that deserves to be trodden by all gamers.

8.5 / 10.0 - Kona
Jun 19, 2018

I'm very conscious of spoiling anything should you decide to hit the buy button on the PlayStation Store, but I can say without question that I highly recommend you giving Kona a chance should you own a PSVR. I'm not sure how it plays without the headset, but with it, this is one of the best experiences I've enjoyed to date.

LEGO Incredibles certainly has its charms, but it just doesn’t hit the heights of some of the best LEGO games out there. It falls short with the length of its campaign and the lack of characters, but perhaps that more down to the franchise this game is based on rather than there being a lack of ideas.

The demo may only take a few hours to complete everything there is to see, but The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a fantastic introduction to Life is Strange 2. Thanks to new mechanics and abilities It changes the way you approach the game and I have a feeling the best is yet to come. Either way, we know now we’ll be hearing more from Chris and Captain Spirit and that can only be a good thing.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Crew 2
Jul 1, 2018

The Crew 2 is a great game, of that there’s no doubt, however thanks to its lack of PVP, awkward menus and long load times, it can on occasion be a frustrating experience. Still, there are not many open world racers on PS4, so until there is a must-have, The Crew 2 will remain the best option out there.

8 / 10.0 - Esper 2 (VR)
Jul 4, 2018

Esper may only be around two hours long, but it feels perfect for PlayStation VR. It’s tricky, but at the same time a lot of fun too. It also looks fantastic and works perfectly with either the DualShock 4 or PlayStation Move controller. It’s fair to say if you are looking for a puzzler on PlayStation VR then you won’t go wrong with Esper.

The core game is still a marvel to behold even after six years post release, the dangerous Rook Islands are beautiful yet deadly with sandy beaches, looming mountains and sweltering jungles. The story has also stood the test of time meaning that even seasoned players can enjoy Far Cry 3’s tale of violence and cultism as it quickly unravels before them.

6.5 / 10.0 - Anamorphine
Aug 6, 2018

Overall the game encompasses a powerful message told in a powerful way. Everything is thoughtfully implemented, faded colours show signs of depression and in Anamorphine small and subtle acts lead to bigger things. Anamorphine and its core message made me wonder. However, when I look back on this game I will remember the lags, repetition hidden amidst Elena’s powerful story.
